Has he evern not been great? The last few years he's been a real workhorse, but this year has seen him return to a bit more of his attacking best and I think the main reason for that is T-Rex. I had my suspcisions but I always thought he was doing a lot of the grunt work for T-Rex, now that is being shared around a bit, its enabling choc to be more effective with the ball. He's still kinda heartattack material when he starts trying to be a ball player, but I wouldn't swap him for any other backrower in the comp. He's all effort and whilst his numbers might be a rung below Gallens in terms of metres made, his play the ball speed makes him more valuable IMO.
