WCC - gone

Between injuries/surgeries and the players association rules (min 8 week break), the riff would be rocking up with their u23 squad anyways...
Wigan will be winning ESL and they have also said they wont travel so it us a bit of a moot poimt...

If the ESL and NRL really want to rescue it they should feature the WCC as a Vegas Match and give the respective winners a bye in the 1st round of their respective comps - then the teams would have no excuses to not play...

It's interesting because they are yet to win the WCC; for all their success, they cannot call themselves world champions.

And they looked pretty ordinary at times during 2024... none of which matters when you win the GF, then win it again, then win it again... and, again...

WCC is a nothing-burger game, glorified trial match most years...

Dont blame teh Panthers for this at all. Big ask for any team, after rep season, backing up for 2 overseas trips
If it actually means anything to the NRL and the ESL then they should fix the scheduling so that it is taken seriously and is not just a 'working' holiday for one team and a trial match for the other...

They'll need to Americanize the NRL and just call themselves World Champions instead of Premiers each year 😂
