This team will not turn it around. We need a complete clean out, a complete overhaul if we’re to be serious about things.

Not this year or next the way contracts look. Will still have the 3 brothers, Saab, Croker, no forwards, Garrick playing out of position....Brooks, Waddell, Bully. We have Siebold and the worst coaching/recruiting team maybe ever assembled at Manly. Owned by the scabbiest owner the NRL world has ever seen. WE will win nothing under the Penns.

Do not agree about the talent stuff. Our forward pack mainly comprises REJECTS from other clubs, and reckon only Bullemore, Olakauatu, and possibly Ben T and Jake (I suppose) would get a game in any other NRL club.

Jurbo & Burbo would not get close for selection in any other team! This love affair with anyone named Trbojevic is bewildering! FMD all 3 were non existent last night! If not for Koula, Garrick, Talau & Olakau’atu last night it would have been a horror show! Sipley comes on & plays well for a few mins then taken off! Why?

Meh this isn't anything new... It's a different variant on the same sh|t show this clubs been since 2016.... Same up and down performances, plodders in the middle, barely escaped the spoon those years and we're doing the same again...
Dce can't go soon enough as he's more interested in playing for someone else, and I don't think any of our forwards get a start in any other club Barr maybe a few of the cellar dwellers

I'm afraid you're right, the player pool next season will be harder to get the player you want 😕

Garrick's defence in the centres is laughable. He's a decent winger, but a defensive centre he'll never be. Time to move him and start someone else. Maybe Tom and Lehi at 1.

WE are also playing 3 hookers in our team and have another few in the lower grades. none of them are effective, but yes Simpkin for me is the best of this bad bunch. Sharks hooker made 52 tackles on Thursday night and 125 metres. Even Cook made 66 metres and 43 tackles

Both of those players are on significantly more money than Croker. Likewise Mitch Kenny whose play style is very similar to Croker.

Simpkin as far as I can tell was dropped because of his defense and because he doesn't play 80 minutes. When we are on the front foot it is fine, but when we aren't (as we were against the Knights in the second half) same problem and he also didn't run the ball (usually cannot if we aren't getting quick play the balls against retreating defence).

Made 50 because they run at him to win quick play the balls, win momentum and kill us through the middle, or break through him with ease, which in turn adds extra pressure to what is already poor defence out wide....maybe with DCE gone replaced by Fogarty - there's $500,000, plus isnt Aloiai shot - add another $650,000, but not saying buy Grant - he ain't leaving Storm

That's the first time I've heard anyone say that teams run at Croker to get a quick play the ball. I don't think it's true at all. Nor do I think his service is horrible.

The Titans were spreading the ball from side to side, the defensive line looked all at sea and most of the missed tackles I saw were them running back and forth to make cover tackles. It was an issue for the entire team... either because they're too slow or they didn't turn up with the right attitude I don't know.

I don't think Simpkin has ever played a full 80 minutes and was just as inconsequential last week. GCKT's passing and defence is observably not as good as Croker's.

Hopefully we will have more money next year but our first priority and problem is forwards... which we will need to go to market for.

Personally would go with a Croker - Simpkin combo , use Jazz as a prop .
Can "t see the point of replacing Ola with Waddell , not going to offer much there
, As mentioned in another post , think that a player with some leg speed and line breaking ability like Bully would be a better choice on an edge with Burbo
Simpkin did again play a full 80 against the Saints at Brookie last season but that was primarily because Manly pretty much ran out of subs in that 2 nd half

Most players with high tackle counts is due to exactly this factor
The opposition will look to iscolate that middle to win quick play the balls and often do at Croker....it's a tactic you will find every game and slso will include running at th playmakers to work them over and nullify their attack
Croker doesn't magically appear wherever the ball carrier is.
I don't see him being a slick passer off the ground or ever engage the defence to push his runners into space.
I pick Simpkin over him, no world beater, but the attack looks far more fluent with him there

Yes but both these guys play 80 minutes, so u only need 1 of them, not 3, like we have.
