His tackle numbers aren't horrible I'll grant you that, but there's not a lot of sting in them and I'd love to know how many of them are group cuddle tackles. I might be harsh on him, but I see him wandering around on that right edge a fair bit without a lot of urgency.

Never thought I would be happy to see such an average player return.

People he is not the saviour, just a fringe first grader at any other club.

No he has a big body and is skillful. He encourages the forwards to offload, and establishes dominance with some big tackles, also strengthens up our defence on the line

Lane wasn't bad, although wasn't good, he was just quiet. We need more involvement and more leading by example

Have to disagree on the sting - he has been hitting hard, often hear the impact when at the ground, 3rd hardest hitter in our team. Sure not all of them are but same goes with every single player even Jake.

Have chatted to friends a few times at games this year of the strangeness of Lane, in reggies his defence was poor and attack good, in first grade, good defence but poor attack. Can only assume this is a planned move as we see it across all our backrowers.

Agree 100%. We have quite a few cuddlers/dancers in our team but Lane is not one of them. He hits well but just doesn't do enough of the hard yards with the ball.
