Souths were bigger than us in last years finals too. If the refs call them on their bull**** around the ruck and we hang in and it becomes a war of attrition, that tall timber tires and the field opens up.

Big upset brewing, although personally I don't think it will be an upset. The teams are fairly evenly matched given our experience in big games.
Why oh why do you supporters turn on each other when you hear a different opinion than the one you have. So strange, I love the mix of opinions on here, but some think they are the PC police. Lighten up guys.

Exactly, everyone should be able to have there opinion on any player or match without someone jumping on them..... Been happening for years, the thread name was aimed at burgess , a bit of light humour..... Don't get me wrong , I'm 100% behind the boys , but on past performances it don't look good! plus we have been smashed with injuries to an area we just couldn't afford! I'll still be sitting on the edge of the couch screaming at vermin and refs , I'll be happy to eat my words when proven wrong...... I hope your all smashing me tomorrow .

The one thing you know about our side is that they will put their body on the line for the maroon and white tonight.Much has been said about Souths inexperience in big games compared to us....that is partly right but if you look at the pigs we have really only Choc and Kingy who can say they are seasoned finals men.Hodges,Symonds,Lui,JSL,Hasson,Starling and to a lesser extent Horo and BJ can't really be tagged as big games specialists.Ballin is a huge loss in terms of the ruck defence.They smashed us with him in R22 and I just can't shake that from my memory.SB ran for about 240 metres that night.And a message to Hiku and Tafua,trust the two great defenders inside you and keep your width boys.Please!!!

There's a difference between saying someone's being negative and calling someone an a:%wipe too.
No need for it.

That is what I like about this forum it allows differences of opinion to be discussed (hopefully without derision.)

So all we a:%wipes better learn and toe the line.

We should know by now that only C Eagle's opinion matters on this forum.

We should all know that he is always right.

We should also know that we lowlifes or lesser mortals are always wrong.

That is unless we agree with C Eagle then we are always correct.

Maybe the moderators should become involved a little here. Just a thought. I for one don't like the inference of the term and I suppose many others may be of a similar opinion to niccipops and I.

The more people write us off tonight the more my confidence grows of an upset.
I've seen Manly rise to the challenge so many times in my 50+ years of following the maroon-and-whites.
I get more concerned when we are the overwhelming favourites.

Yeah, its a method that's always worked for me. Short of saying the team bus will crash on route to the game, I routinely predict failure, and more often than not over the last 10 years, I get the result I desire.

It's for this exact reason why I don't post as much, and there's more then just me who don't for this reason. Has nothing to do with being a true supporter as you put it.........

While I'm going to be gutted if we get beaten, I'll learn to live with it as long as we don't just hand the game over by dropping the ball incessantly.

I was super proud of the boys last year in the corresponding game when we threw everything at the Rooters but lost 4-0.

Our form has been dusty at best over the last 5 rounds. Now would be an opportune time for a form reversal. Please.

The only comfort I have is knowing that if Manly show up and do what we know they can, Souffs won't win. Our best is better than theirs. We just need to produce it.

We just don't have what it takes to match it up front with souths, this is why our back have been making so many errors lately.... Forwards aren't putting down a platform for the backs to work on the back of, you have a back line full of super stars but if your forwards can't match what's in front of them, you can forget it. The boys will throw the kitchen sink at this, but as much as I would love to say we got this, just don't see it. Fingers crossed

Oh we'll, chin up all.... At least we have the opportunity to finish the season with a better performance then what was dished out last night...sure we are battered and bruised but it could be worse, that could of been it for the season .
