Manly down by 18-4 vs 2nd place Roosters and go on to win by 13+

then the very next week

lead last place Tigers 20-4 and get beaten.

My mates (mad punters) reckon the Manly boys are making a motza on the punt because there is no other logical explanation to those results.

This is not the first time nor will it be the last time that a naive team will blow a lead against a motivated team. The fact is that Manly was lucky to be ahead 20-6 at the break, the first 20 minutes were dominated and we got a try against the run of play. Overall we were the better team for 30 of the 80 minutes. To insinuate that something untoward happened is not clever. The team lost, it was costly and a hard lesson was learned. We move on!!

This is a very good and important point and puts the original post into a different light.

Whilst we dominated the first 15-20 minutes against the Rooters, i.e had all the possession, momentum etc, we went in behind at halftime but then ran them down.

I suspect that first period of the game is far more important than people may realise.

I've learnt to hate the words " game management " because nearly always they are referring to Cameron Smith Cooper Cronk or JT.

However that's what we really needed on Sunday , a cool head or two to slow things down, get back on track and stop the rot that allowed 26 unanswered points.

That should be Cherry & Green's role, shouldn't it?

Any new Team will have ups and downs.
Manly threw a big lead in round 2 against the Rabbids.

Combos result in consistency, which results in meeting expected outcomes.
The Big 3 weren't that big in their 1st year either.

The players would feel more upset than any of us
