What will the extended break mean for.....(injuries)

I read an article saying that NSW cup players will play "trial" type games every couple weeks to keep match fitness up and try to limit injuries to fringe players. Seems a good idea until someone gets injured in one of these games. Catch 22 I suppose
This situation really worries me , not current injuries but the chance of potential injuries with them not really being “ ready”.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be more serious injuries this season? I was looking at the list of injuries on fox sports and gee it’s extensive.

I wasn’t a fan of introducing the 6 again rule once the season was underway because I think it’s a bit gimmicky when a fundamental rule change is introduced after the comp has started. I fear, though, that off the back of the 10 week shut down, players didn’t have the necessary conditioning to deal with the NRL generally, let the increased fatigue brought about by the rule change. And now the players could be paying the price...
