Manly million dollar half ,,
No kicking game
No passing game
No percentage play
One of the best salaries in the NRL and doesn’t play rep footy ,DCE is a halve only because he wears the number 7 ,,, if you know your footy ,if you watch your footy and didn’t know he was halfback you’d swear he was playing hooker ,,, I’ve screamed this for the last 2 seasons ,,, DCE may have halfback written on his pay slip but he plays the role of a hooker ,,,MOVE HIM TO HOOKER , Cullen /Lussick/Hastings give these blokes a go PLEASE

Silvertail47 said | March 5th 2017 @ 6:27pm | ! Report

DCE has no kicking game , his percentage plays are pathetic , he plays like a hooker on the field not a half , Manly are paying massive money for this bloke ,, our forwards are being crucified by his poor decisions in play , he is our million dollar man who ain’t even close to rep footy ,,, no SOO ,, No test jumper ,,, he is responsible for Tooves getting the flick and Bozo is responsible for employing a hack not a coach ,,,,

Mate why don’t you disappear & follow another team? We don’t need ‘false’ supporters like you………..you do nothing but bag Manly players at every opportunity. I don’t know what game you were watching yesterday, however there are many people with much more rugby league intelligence than you who actually praised Manly’s defense & agreed had they had more ball control & luck could have won the game. Parramatta were good, however the scoreline should have been much greater with the amount of possession they had. First game of the season & you bag them……..well done. Don’t see the Panthers supporters bagging their team or players after the heavy defeat suffered over the weekend!! Either be a true supporter, or like i said, disappear!

"..... our first 40 is piss poor. We're lucky they haven't put 30 on us. How much more of this crap do I need to endure before we wake up to the fact our 2017 challenge is won on the field and not in the papers. Abysmal, dreadful rubbish." - Puss

"very soft.......believed all the hype" - Lismore Panther

"Really, it was all down to the forwards. They owned us, dominated us, bent us over and did what they wanted with us. Yeo was the only forward who made decent metres and showed consistency. Every other forward was pathetic. Cartwright's defence was not NRL standard and he should be benched to get him to wake up to himself." - Pomoz

"This is absolutely pathetic. f**k this team." - Billypilgrimnz

"This is why you never say we should win a game. We are f**king pathetic when a game should be super easy." - mxlegend99

"Browne and Tamou sure toughened up our defencr in the middle... Deadset wasted money. What we had was just as good. In the case of Browne it was better." - mxlegend99

"This is the worst forward performance we have had in years.
Things never change. Theres no reason to ever expect a win is certain with our team." - anon

"Seriously, Tamou, RCG, Merrin, Cartwright, Yeo, Leota, Latu, Browne, and JFH should hang their heads in shame. The worst forwards performance I think I have ever seen from us. Absolutely nothing for our baby halves to work with." - Billypilgrimnz

"Hiku copped blatent high shot on one of his first touches, never looked settled after that. He's not a winger and despite that he's done more than Moylan.
Our forwards were dog ****. JWH must be trying to emulate his Canberra efforts.
RCG played like a puss. Tamou was rubbish.
Cleary copped a decent high shot and went MIA.
Find me a positive. TMM?" - Exsilium

Apparently, even the club GM had a go...
"Gus called it the worst performance in years on Twitter. It was what it was. It WAS an atrocious performance." - Rowdy Panther.

I guess Panthers lack "true supporters" too 🙂

Not as many as Manly!!! So we have to be the same & bag our boys......yeah right! Oh yeah but we're all experts.

I live in the middle of shark territory (not the ocean ..a little west of that). I told my wife I would wear my Manly top to the gym on Monday morning if we win. I get so much sh*t put on me when I do. I felt proud of our team and the effort they put in I worn it with pride. Anyway thats how I feel.

Sonce i moved to Qld, all i get is crap from bloody Broncos and Roosters fans. What can i say back? Yes, at the moment and last year we sucked. Going through a re building period and it will take time. It hurts as our club is great and successful. Still upset at our losses but i think we are getting closer. Sooner would be nice. Staying positive and supporting the club as strong as ever. No point complaining what's done is done. We will go well this year. Defence was good on the weekend. Looking fowrard to beating the Bunnies.

What I don't understand is the implicit assumption that by expressing an opinion that we are travelling poorly means I and others are not as passionate and committed as the optimists among us. I have been a financial member for over 15 years and a supporter for over 50 years and I yell and scream as loudly as anyone else on game day. I have traveled around Australia and to the other side of the world to watch our team play and yet I and others are labeled negatively because we think the coach is crap and the team under performing.

Why can't we have differing opinions and still all be passionate supporters???

Peters is now calling fans imbeciles so continues the distain towards fans by club staff

No wonder this club cant pack out brookie any more

What - the - **** ! Hahaha.
Peter Peters, man, are you really this clueless champion?

Have to ask though, when he's at his PC, writing an article about something he doesn't like around Rugby League, does that put him in that position of being a keyboard warrior and imbecile?

Zorba, give yourself an uppercut mate.

Wow one game and people went all savage. After the first game in 2011 I gave up on the season got stupidly drunk to the point that the only thing left was Schnapps and.....I drank some of that too. I suffered for a good 2 days from that, then we won the comp.

I didnt drink Schnapps the other day but its game 1 and there were a lot of positive signs out there, we appear to have fixed our goal line defense and we gelled better in some areas, over the season if we can get a consistent run at it we will go better, give it time.

On DCE's kicking game I noted on Sunday how short his kicks for touch were of penalties, it was stark compared to the long boot he has had in the past, and I wonder if he is protecting his hammy or groin?

Please can I add Hiku and Ballin.

I think the buying of Myles and Brown has proved laughable.

Honestly, we never recovered from losing Glenn Stewart.

All history now, so it has to be onwards and hopefully upwards.

Not sure you can add Ballin - he has barely played since leaving, can't add much from the sidelines.

Hi Dan
Yeah we all feel the same.
2011 we were all savaging the team after the first game for pretty much the same things we have dug into Manly this week.
Games are hard to analyse. You can look at the numbers such as only 4 line breaks, 10% missed tackles, only 20 points against and argue quite strongly that this team has gone up a level, at least defensively, and premierships are built from strong defense. Brian Kelly is going to develop into a good version of Dylan Walker. Lots to like. You could also argue that Manly made the same amount of metres per minutes with the ball and that is encouraging too. Finally, looking at Parramatta, they look really strong and I think close to a top 4 side.
The reality is however, as good as the positives look, all can come crashing down this week with a loss to Souths. Keep in mind there is only one starter missing from Round 1, and that starter is replaced with a State of Origin forward in Myles. There are absolutely no excuses.
A loss would uncover some serious negatives and here is what we face:
(1) Ouch we are on our 7th consecutive loss since last season. This is starting to look ugly and depressing. No confidence.
(2) We can't even win at home with a virtually full strength side
(3) We can't beat lowly Souths who looked miserable against the Tigers, and just as unmotivated as last year (that team has serious problems)
(4) How are we going to beat any of the Cowboys, Bulldogs and Roosters after losing to Souths at home?.
(5) Blake Green will not be the answer, he will be the problem and can't win in the NRL without Cooper Cronk. He will be Orford to the Raiders.
It is fascinating where Manly is right now. They are right on the edge of the cliff facing rock bottom, yet it is also totally possible they could be forming the ignition to completely destroy the bunnies on Saturday (as they should) and ignite a really good season and be strong enough to make the top 8 comfortably.
I must say Dan, I have never been so excited about a game since 2014 simply because it is fascinating to think this team could go either way on Saturday as explained above. I am gonna be there and can't wait.
My prediction is that the positive is true and we will win about 32-12 and ignite for the season ahead. I think there is a mighty engine there and we are ready to explode.
But boy if I am wrong, it's time for a holiday.

What an awesome post!

My only issue in the 2011 comparison is that back then we had a team that had been together for years, had already won a premiership and had a proven coach. If this team was at that stage then maybe I'd agree, but this team is more like the 2004 team than the 2011 team.
