over round one we saw players cited. The trippers and the punchers got fines while the shoulder chargers got rubbed out. Was this decided on the run or were clubs in the loop about the changes prior to kick off. Which offences would be downgraded.

To me this just seems like another system the NRL will apply with horrible inconsistency leaving itself open to appearing bias or incompetent yet again. At what point will the punchers run out of luck and be judged much harsher than there predecessors. When will the NRL issue a statement on someones career , saying they are reclamping down on a relaxed interpretation of a rule , they clamped down on previously to protect the game, its sponsors and its players.

I think what he's saying is that once again there is great inconsistency in what the NRL is doing about on-field charges, and he is also questioning when the league will do their usual knee jerk reaction to things and suddenly change what they deem punishable.

However, even I am struggling to understand the last paragraph......😵

IMO, it is fare to say that the NRL is corrupt and agenda driven. Their actions illustrate this point, pure and simple.

They have predetermined outcomes in mind and will formulate so called rules to suit themselves. There is no consistency across the board on anything at all. The officiating, TPA's, cap cheating punishment, medical retirements, shoulder charges etc, etc are just ways to manipulate the results.

A measly fine for punching, seriously what is with that? So who decided fines would be given instead of being charged by the judiciary? Yet our blokes get wiped for dubious, supposed dangerous tackles for two games each. If actual dangerous tackles were policed correctly, Scam Smith would never play another game of RL again. But I digress......!

I have watched RL for almost all my life, not sure I can count my first three years, but I have no doubt I was watching it from my bassinet. So lets say 35 years and yet I don't know what the rules are for certain in 2017. What will happen this week, what will happen next week? I have no idea because I am not the one manipulating the game.

Getting rid of Greenturd can not happen quickly enough and he would just be the start of the clean out.....!

I love my team but I can not stand the NRL or how it is run one bit at present.

2015. Punch good, NRL love punch. All members go into draw to have 3 nrl players visit your childs birthday party and punch everyone. Go forth and punch
2016. Punch bad, punch very very bad. All punchers to be dressed like hannibal lector, and processed on christmas island. If survive, must spend one week in thunderdome. Punch ugly and no good for game or the children.
2017. Punch meh!. With a little work on interpretation of punch rule, players who still like punch could fund nrl chrismas party, and get all nrl execs ivory back scratchers they have been hankering for . If media goes along with plan ,should be enough cash by seasons end to fund trip to Mauritius to ask masseuse for views on rugby league . NRL APPROVED

the whole judiciary process is a farce when people who punch or trip get slapped with a wet lettuce and shoulder charges are deemed worthy of lengthy suspensions.

I think Marty had grounds to challenge his one as there were 2 in his tackle, the second one by AFB was pretty daft considering it was the end of the game and there was nothing at all to gain.

This is a coaching issue, TB and Bozo have to get the message through that you just cant shoulder charge a guy anymore.
