Who will be our goal kicker next season?

We have singed Uate, and allegedly chasing other wingers, so our No. 1 goal kicker at the end of last season, Wright, won't make first grade. Or will he, because he can kick goals?
I wonder if Trent is giving Poo goal kicking practice to justify his place in the team next season.

It's alright, no need to be worried about scoring tries. We have Tom Trbojevic, Jorge Taufua, Dylan Walker, Steve Matai (maybe someone like DWZ instead) and Uate in the backline. Plus a proper halves combination and a pretty intimidating, metre eating pack. We should however, be worried about injuries. The last two seasons have been based upon them and I just can't trust the football gods, hopefully it's not a rule of three

I reckon we'll go a lot better with a specialist pivot, I'm looking forward to next season with a lot more hope for a better outcome but a lot still depends on what happens with Skivvy and Snake, we won't have a clue about the makeup of our backline until their immediate futures are settled.

He has never been a goal kicker . He has never kicked any goals in his career .

DCE kicked goals before he made NRL, on his salary he should be practicing every single day, and twice on Sunday.
Cam Smith became kicker because he was guaranteed to be in the team. I recall him missing about 8 one day, but he persevered and is now an excellent kicker.

Totally agree. He just needs to be made to do the extra practice. In 2011 he really seemed to grow in confidence after he slotted a conversion. He needs to stand up a bit more and control the game, conversions included, if he wants to take JTs spot in origin.

I saw Matai kick some great goals in the 2008 GF when Orford sacked himself.

But I agree, DCE has the ability. He just needs to practice over the off season. If he can kick well it will rub off positively on his general play

The NRL need to introduce an NFL style specialist goal kicker. A player allowed to come on the field for a team and kick either penalty goals or conversions.

What is Matthew Ridge doing these days........?

Ah Manly's on-going problem. Other than a brief flirtation with Ben Walker we have not had a kicker come close to Ridge's quality since he left the club after the 1996 GF - 20 years and counting.
