World Cup

Does anybody know if World Cup games count as tests on a players record? I tried to find out via Google but got conflicting information.

any game that the Australia "A" side plays (i.e. not those tests in PNG etc) are counted as a test match.

Thanks, was just thinking Glen Stewart will probably play more games for Australia than Brett in the WC and so should end up with more test caps.

A situation few would have predicted 18 months ago.

I recall in the 1970s were not counted as tests - Terry Randall for one never actually played a test and was not credited as being a test player but did actually play world cup games.

Not sure if this palaver has been corrected in the annals of history

A lot of records use to count world cup games as different to test matches. Don't know what the official outlook is these days.
