    Nathan Brown

On the whole, he’s been really good for us but yesterday wasn’t one of his better games. The stripping penalty on 2nd tackle, with the sharks coming off their line was poor. However he topped that, by giving away that stupid ‘late contact’ on the kicker penalty on 6th tackle. He should have been...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly V Sharks [Round 27, 2024]

Sharks just too fast. We needed to minimise the errors but they just kept making them, gifting the sharks more opportunities. Brown was poor but he wasn’t the only one. Turbo back next week but with no momentum, it’s anyone one’s game. Very disappointing 🤬

    Post-Game Discussion Warriors V Manly [Round 6, 2024]

All in all, a strong performance. Beating the Warriors at home was always going to be very tough task, considering the injuries going into the game as well as during it. Yes they should have won but we also almost lost. Imagine how ****ty we’d be feeling if we did lose! Anyway, onto next week.

Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Coaching can be as easy or complicated as you want to make it. I get the impression Seibold tends to over complicate it. All teams are trying to do the same thing; start fast and gain the ascendancy. After that, it’s about minimizing errors whilst capitalizing on your opponent’s mistakes. In the...

    Garricks performance at centre

His best position is on the wing. He tries his heart out and I can’t fault him for his effort but he should be starting on the wing. He’s not the reason we’re losing but he’s not going to win us a game, playing where he is either.

    Post-Game Discussion Manly v Tigers [Round 27, 2023]

Better end to the season than last year. Really happy for Jake to get the win and sing the team song, one more time for the year. The last couple of weeks have given us a glimpse at what might have been, if we’d played Koula or in the #1 a bit earlier. Also Gordie who adds plenty of speed around...

    A different kind of disappointment

Hmm…. Not really different for mine. My disappointment is watching them each week, waiting for the inevitable, momentum killing f#€k up. Other teams can make errors and there’s the sense that, they’ll just create more opportunities. Yes they hung in there but at 6-13 midway thru the 2nd half...

    The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

Unfortunately for the kid, he only occasionally shows glimpses of what he’s capable of. Think back to his form in 2021, and a handful of games this year. He looks every bit a $800k player. Along with the interest from other clubs that brings with it, also pressure for Manly to re-sign him. But...

    Garrick

He always plays his heart out. Effort and intensity and perhaps just as important, accountability. I still think his best position is on the wing. Although he’s certainly improved many aspects of his game, that he could cover both Centre and Fullback. Although if he was to cover fullback, the...

    Post-Game Discussion Storm v Manly [Round 17, 2023]

Come to think of it, they were in the game, well into the 2nd half. It was Keppie, coughing it up on tackle 2, then Schuster doing his “turnstile” impersonation, that began downward slide. There’s something going on behind the scenes. About half the players are really trying and the other...

    Post-Game Discussion Storm v Manly [Round 17, 2023]

Error after error, poor defense and 24 unanswered points. Not surprised by the performance because they dish it up most weeks. Harper had a real dig and good on him. Schuster was complete rubbish. For all his potential, I’m getting fed up with these poor efforts.

    Olakau’atu upgraded

Is it just me, or does he look leaner? In the first month of the competition he was a beast, breaking tackles and smashing the ball runners. Lately though, he stops and props and tries to push thru the defenders (often 3 of them). On top of this, he just looks skinnier.

    Josh Aloiai

I can’t remember the last time he played well enough that, you could realistically say he was worth keeping. All I remember are the missed tackles and niggly bull****, that often leads to penalties. He can spend the rest of the year at Blacktown until he seeks a release.

The Anthony Seibold Grievances MEGA THREAD

I’d say, at least he’s shown a willingness to try players in different positions. It’s only been about 7-8 months and he’s now lost Flanagan. So that means looking for a new, quality assistant coach. If the same level of performances are happening a year from now, then I’ll be worried. I’m...

    The Shane Flanagan Influence

When Flanagan was first hired as an assistant coach, I had high hopes it was just what we needed. I see Seibold as more of a manager style head coach and therefore we really needed, a “hands on” coach. With the talk about Flanagan being more Defensive minded, the first months strong displays...
