    Ref THAT ruck

    The other annoying aspect of the ruck is the control ref often overrules the ruck ref. You often hear the ruck ref calling out "milking, milking" yet the control ref blows a penalty despite the fact he's further away. I find that lack of consistency the most frustrating thing.

    Did they really take pay cuts? I've heard them say they were offered more money elsewhere but decided to stay at Manly. I haven't heard them say they negotiated a collective deal with Manly where they agreed to take less money to keep the squad together.

    Those stripping penalties are an absolute lottery. It's almost like the refs just guess. If there's one rule I'd like changed it'd be that one.

    I agree with you Bones, the club needs to move the senior guys on one at a time. As for who goes first, wasn't Kitey the first big name to go? I don't think Glenn's been playing at the same high standard of previous years, perhaps the club sees more benefit in the younger guys coming through...

    Actually he said the penalty was there but Maxwell let the players talk him into reviewing it after he'd ruled a goal line dropout. I agree with him. The refs shouldn't be doing what the players tell them.
