    Should earn his way back in... as should a few other players. There's nothing wrong with healthy competition for starting spots and I think the coach is pragmatic enough to realise this.

    Was SST injured? He was very good but came off after 22 minutes and didn't return. The best part about these signings is that we have healthy competition for spots in the top 17.

    I think it is worth considering the possibility that, based on what the coaching staff have seen from trials, pre-season training, plus half a year of JS being at the club, that Tevaga is considered the better option as a starting hooker on his own merits at the moment.

    If he wants to do it, then it makes sense to try. But if he doesn't, then he'd be within his rights to ask for a release to a club that will play him in his preferred position, which I imagine would attract a higher salary ceiling than that of a utility player.

    I look at Glenn Stewart as a comparison... he was a small forward and was only an occasional first grader for 4 seasons before securing a starting position, and then never looked back.
