Walsh thanked DCE for meeting him on days off + bye weeks to train him 1 on 1 at the oval. Pretty big effort for a guy that’s 36 with kids at home & no immediate future at the club IMO.

Check out the jersey presentation on manly socials. Really shows how much DCE cares about the future of the club

    2026 recruitment & retention

I heard a rumour we are interested in the 21 year old back rower from Penrith Harrison Hassett. Only heard it from a mate that supports Panthers so I couldn’t say 100% if it’s true or not. Can anyone that has some inside knowledge confirm this?

    Burbo

Is there really that much difference from Burbo to guys like Blore, Sorrenson, Garner etc? I don’t think so. There is always a few on the cheaper side that are needed to balance the team.

    Tof Sipley

I don’t see much point putting Schoupp on the bench considering he won’t be at the club next year & we can’t make finals. Having 2 props in the 18-21 has me thinking it will be 1 of them but could be wrong

Shame it took him half a season to finally get match fit most years or he would have cracked the 100 easily. On the positive side we will most likely see the debut of Laiafi or DJ that plenty on here have wanted.

You can have whatever opinion you like but judging by player interviews over the years it sounded positive

    Aloiai Gone

People dismiss his contributions because they don’t like him personally but he has been a good prop for us & we’ve missed him a lot this year. Averaged over 100 run metres a game & over 95% tackle efficiency in his 5 years here. The positive impact on the younger Polynesian players also can’t be...

Short/medium length kicking game is great & he took more control as the year went on. Kicking inside their own half was usually left to Wakeham who averaged 171 kick metres per game while Walsh averaged 95 metres.

    Joey Walsh

Not sure if it’s been posted but Seibold has confirmed Walsh will make his debut this weekend from the bench & get minutes alongside DCE in his farewell game. (DT)

Positive suggestions for the club going forward

A big positive would be to bring in another batch of youngsters (17-19 yrs old) like they did with Walsh, Zaidas, Willet & Hart who are all big chances to contribute for us in 2026. Whoever scouted + convinced them to join did a great job & can hopefully repeat it.

Young Forwards - Do we have any?

Who replaces Sipley this week? All the young forwards have been in solid form. I have a feeling Paseka will also be pushing to come back so he’s in contention for the pacific championship but would prefer to see a debut for obvious reasons

    Burbo

Replace a back rower with a lock?
  14. O

    Joey Walsh

Could be interesting if Sipley gets suspended as well. Think that would guarantee another debut for 1 of the props in reserve grade

    Kelma Tuilagi

What other positions do you think he could play at a high level apart from fullback?
  16. O

    Kelma Tuilagi

If you are comparing talent then it should be simple to see why Weekes was let go. Turbo has him covered in every aspect bar speed
  17. O

    Kelma Tuilagi

Why are you trying to compare Talau to Weekes? They play exclusively in different positions. It’s pretty simple - Weekes better fullback. Talau better winger/centre. 1 thing we have is plenty of fullback cover

    Who will win the comp

Storm win convincingly against anyone IMO

    Joey Walsh

It will probably depend on the result of the roosters storm game tonight

All NRL Games [Round 26, 2025]

I can’t understand this plan by Ciraldo to have Critta permanently attacking at fullback in the red zone. 1 of the hardest centres in the comp to tackle 1 on 1 but let’s take all those chances away from him near the try line 🤦‍♂️ Dogs will go out in straight sets IMO
