Reynolds must have been playing with needles. He couldn’t catch, pass or kick to a high standard.

Yeah, I know mate, and wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular. I just thought we were giving it a red hot go and was actually pretty positive we might get over the line. The thing that irked me was the targeted abuse towards certain players, that I know are not top shelf but were busting a gut. And I know you aren’t one of them that sprays players.

As much as we bag Parker , and like many he made some mistakes but he tried very hard today.

No, till 2022. Last December, not long after Des arrived, in a show of faith he extended AFB's contract for 2021-2022, saying "Addin can become one of the great Manly Warringah Sea Eagles front rowers in its history"

Many of us said before the season began that we didn't expect to win each game, we'd just be satisfied to see them try their hardest. Which is exactly what I saw today. I'm usually over-optimistic about Manly's chances but several times I believed it was only a matter of time before Souths kicked ahead. But this bunch of players actually refused to concede. If this is how they are going to play the crowds at Brookie will get bigger and bigger. Even for bloody night matches!

PS regardless planned or necessity. Finishing with two hookers on the field against the big Poms was brilliant. API may not be a Fainu at hooker, but he made a couple of good dummy half runs for a backrower.

How awesome was it seeing API and Fainu on the field at the same time at the end of the match. Faniu made big meters from dummy half then the next play Api jumps out and makes huge meters. That 1, 2 punch combo looked deadly

When Tom went down injured, I expected heads to drop and Souffs to start piling on the pressure and go away to a comfortable win.

That's what would have happened in 2018.

But this team has shown that they are prepared to fight rather than just roll over and die. They have a totally different mindset under Des and although we had a lot of dropped ball, our defence frustrated the living hell out of Souffs and they just couldn't get it together.

That was one hell of a gutsy win yesterday.

And let's not forget Jake who kept cutting them in half, they were always taking a quick look to see if he was in front of them.

Jake is hand down the best defender in the game and has been for a few seasons. Really it’s jake then daylight in the best defender category. Just text book technique that knocks the pill loose. That shot that forced the error and led to the try was a great example.

Seems most defenders these days go for the flop, hold, wrestle technique.

Jake, fkn bang, get that into you, and while you’re watching on in awe Manase, pick up that loose pill and slam it over the goal line.
