Original Hit List of 14 Manly Players
THE UNCONTRACTED NINE
Justin Horo: Horo has been linked with a move to French-based Super League club
Catalans for 2016.
Dunamis Lui: Lui is sidelined with a knee injury and despite featuring on the unwanted list; the lock has a deal on the table from
St George Illawarra.
Jack Littlejohn: The utility half is a Roosters junior who played Holden Cup under Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor in 2011. It’s understood the 23-year-old half has agreed to reunite with Taylor and join the
Tigers in 2016, where he’ll likely be on his last chance to crack it at NRL level.
James Hasson: The 23-year-old is also on the move. An Ireland international, Hasson is close to announcing a one-year deal with
Parramatta.
Willie Mason: Has declared publicly he’ll play on in the NRL in 2016 and claims there are several interested parties. It is understood there are two Sydney-based clubs showing interest in the former Test prop but it remains to be seen if the 35-year-old’s going rate can be met.
David Williams: The former Kangaroos winger is well back in Manly’s wing pecking order and likely to
retire.
Cheyse Blair: The 23-year-old former Kangaroos schoolboy has played 44 NRL games and would be a handy second-tier pick-up but after two failed NRL stints, suitors won’t be lining up. If he continues at the top level it will more than likely be in the Super League.
Siosaia Vave: The prop is off contract at the end of the year. Only 27 next year, Vave may struggle to get a new club.
Tyson Andrews: The 25-year-old made his NRL debut last year but has not been seen at top level since playing for the Indigenous All Stars at the start of the year.
CONTRACTED AT MANLY IN 2016
Matt Ballin: The hooker recently re-signed on a new two-year deal. A 200 game veteran, 31-year-old Ballin is well established on the northern beaches and may decide to see out his deal before retiring.
Jayden Hodges: Hodges is signed until end of 2016. The 21-year-old has played only 12 top grade games and may find it difficult to find another deal in the NRL. He may get a run at the Titans with the club in the market for a hooker.
Josh Starling: The former South Sydney forward has played 40 games in the NRL, 33 of those for the Sea Eagles. Under contract for next year, Starling shapes as a handy pick-up for clubs who are light up front, putting him on the radar alongside Andrews at the Knights and Titans.
Luke Burgess: The forward only joined the club this year after securing an early release from South Sydney. Contracted to Brookvale until the end of 2016, the 28-year-old is considering a move to Japanese rugby.
Feleti Mateo: The former Eel and Warrior finds himself in a unique situation with potentially three clubs paying his wage next year.
