You don't know that you have no idea how many tpa's we have and other clubs have you may be correct but all it is is a guess.
Zorba misread the memo ,apparently we are getting a blue cheese dip acquisition.

I'm telling you Manly don't have the TPAs that Brisbane, Roosters, Parra, Melbourne, North Qld, Sharks and Warriors have
Telling me something doesn't make it right (we are only speculating because none of us know for a fact) . I will say all the clubs you mention I will agree with but the Sharks I doubt that. Rather than saying that the Sharks got Moylan because of tpa's it could be as simple as he has more mates at the sharks and that swayed him. Also the panthers wanted a player swap or a transfer fee so that ruled us out straight away.
All I'm saying is that there are other clubs in a better position to strengthen their squads with third-party deals.
I seriously doubt the Sharks have another $800 000 to play with. Maloney was on closer to $500 000 and Moylan is on around $900 000 so the straight swap scenario is bullsh1t. Also Moylan wants to play in the halves, so unless they’ve decided to play Townsend off the bench, after extending and upgrading him last season. Or, they are going to shaft Moylan and not play him in the halves (which would piss him off no end) then Pearce ain’t going there. And if by some miracle they did have a Roosters like magical million in their cap, I think they would be chasing a forward (a very good one)Apparently they still have 800k to play with after Moylan.

Not saying we are doing or not doing our job in recruitment (imo I think we are going ok considering), but we have to find other avenues to sign players not at full freight and not get into bidding wars because we not in a position to do so.

The downside and sometimes difficult part of front loaded deals arrangements is that the front loaded stage seems to be the easy part until the problems and complications set in and are usually hard to manage once the back loaded process is required to implement . For Manly , maybe better to see how the increased cap allocation and trying to stabilize and prudently improve the present squad and promising juniors goes, before trying the previous front loaded contract saga again.
Not suggesting that Manly receive any direct advantage with the cap increase and when it will naturally be available to all NRL sides but just would prefer the club to organize and make the team as competitive as possible in the short term without reverting to Front loaded contract deals again. The maths don't change with the salary cap increase ... all clubs get it ... and player's values go up. The only real difference between clubs (other than acumen) is the TPA's.
Manly will never be able to compete with the TPA strong clubs for a top roster ... our best and only chance of doing this is to create a window where we have a $13m roster in a $10m cap. Can only be done with front/back loading.
Des and the crew that put our dream team together were brilliant and gave us 2 premierships.
And yes .... the downside is a few years in the wilderness at the end ... that is, until you can do it all again.
Weren't sealed last night...Apparently the blond chick below has an inside scoop of our blue chip signing for 2018. But her lips are sealed...
