Moale is a gun. It’s a shame we couldn’t land Mooney. If we could have got Mooney and Moale as a pair, suddenly we look much better. My concern is one will not be enough to turn us around.

Then , Manly "s N S W cup side got the better of them a few weeks ago with Walsh , Hart , Navale Laifai in the side
Hopefully a good sign in the not too distant future in terms of getting good results if this grouping and maybe a couple of other Cup players can be equally effective and successful at first grade level

My concern is the number to be replaced and the known unknowns also in there.
It wouldn't be unlike Manly in recent years to cry blue moon in January or February that their is no Middles left to sign, It's the bears fault for recruiting come Nov 1, it's the NRL's fault wanting evidence re AOA and Frog. It's no one's fault and just so unlucky players have injuries.
When really......
We are are already past the point where there’s no middles left to sign. The ones people are floating on here are rubbish!

In retrospect, we dodged a couple of bullets when we missed out and/or never chased Bateman and RCG.
Hopefully we can dodge Klemmer, Jack Bird and Royce Hunt.
Just imagine those three with Waddell, Burbo and whoever at 9.
And there lies our problem.

I remember a player by the name of Vic Mauro, who happens to be a premiership winning player. If he walked on the street today I bet no one would recognise him because of the sort of player Manly used to bring through back in the day which was an underrated and underappreciated part of their success. We don't bring these type of players through now.
We don't seem to give these type of players a chance anymore...the OJ Cunningham, Vic Mauro, Jamie Buhrer. These guys played an important role in the team. Instead we only let them have ago if they show immediate talent as a superstar. The worker type no frills player is given the flick and replaced by the 30+ injury prone journeyman.
