Sea Eagles sign Aaron Schoupp

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have today signed centre Aaron Schoupp to a two-year deal, effectively immediately.

No he was a good buy, but he is not a Fafita, Haas Munster Walsh etc. A superstar....

We haven't got a million to spend, but then again, we did give the Schu a cool 1m, at least it brought a smile to his face...mmm.

When was the last time and when will be the next time we will sign someone that has wow factor. We buy nobodies. We never buy a gun player anymore, just cruise along picking up scraps. Every other club seems to be able to come up with a big banger or 2 and we do sweet FA, we are never ever in the picture at all. They don't even use us as a bargaining tool, it's pathetic.

I'm starting to think, they just don't want to come.

2 year deal, don’t like this signing, would have preferred they gave Faulalo an upgrade to see how he goes or young Hoppa.

Most likely Ray Ray will be done at the end of season.

The Paulo signing on a 3 year deal has turned into a problem based on games played this season.

The thing is, I'd take Ray Ray over Paulo. I haven't seen anything worthwhile from Paulo all year. Ray Ray puts in, and is a great competitor.

I would assume this signing means Garrick returns to the wing?

In that case, at full strength our centres (priority order) would be:

1. Koula
2. Talau
3. This guy
4. Burbo
5. Parker (no idea how he got this low, arguably he's similar speed to Burbo)
6. Faulalo?

And our wings:

1. Saab
2. Garrick
3. Paulo
4. Ray Ray (I like him more than Paulo)
5. Faulalo?

Honestly I think Hopoate should be getting a shot. Faulalo's defence is quite poor at centre so far, look at the NSW cup highlights.

Depth signing. Cheap, young, with a little experience and still some potential. Quite a strong runner. Hopoate and Faulalo still in plans but we are still short in immediate term if any more injuries are sustained to our back 5.

Obviously the club is still working on a major signing for our backrow. Whether they can actually pull one off at this late stage, and with Seibold as head coach, is doubtful though
