Barrett exteneion

I was forgiving last year and highly critical after round 1 and 2 this year. Loved Tooves like everyone else but thought maybe a new approach was warranted, though not in the disrespectful way it happened. He was on a hiding to nothing last year with injuries and other player related issues.

I alway liked him as a player and wanted to like him as a coach. Now I can.

We have seen him mature and go through a lot of emotions and it's obvious the team plays for him.

Starting to see structure in defence and attack that was always going to take a while last year but wasnt to be with injuries ect. Give him two more.

There's none else banging the door down.

This team could be anything in three years with the right guidance. Turbos in their prime DCE an old head Walker and Hastings and Kelly and Parker mid twenties.

Happy with this. He has the team going well and they seem to have a great bond. Playing some good football and for each other.

And you can absolutely bet we will make a decent signing or two from 2018, which will only improve this team even more.

He just needs time and a fit side to be able to succeed!

And he's almost there, if we play finals this year ( still not convinced we will) that's a bonus.

We are resigning a coach with a strike rate of less than 50% and you are out in the back paddock doing cartwheels ? FMD
I don't think that was the reason why he was excited, more to see the reactions.

I would give Barrett another year, if after that point he can't improve his win rate then its time to look elsewhere.

To be fair the cupboard is pretty bare though

is there any thread you are not hijacking these days crying fowl? Even quoting yourself to prove you were wrong?

As for the actual footy talk (sorry FB) Barrett is signed next year i believe so there is no reason for us to rush. If there is any truth then it must be some serious talk and Penriff is the obvious team, Gus would be more than happy to undermine anyone.

Personally not sold yet either way but things are looking positive. Last year was a write off due to injuries, this year got the boys playing as a team and has over a million handicap so make the 8 and that should be re-sign time, now is a bit early.
