I think Parker is one of those great clubmen who is worth keeping and are part of the culture of the place. But he'll probably be 18th man a lot next year with Garrick and Koula in centers. He'll be injury cover. So he'll play most of the year when Koula goes to fullback.

No complaints from me, we needed a bit of a clean out. Scott Fulton might have scouted out a few of these players but it's pointless to sign up a heap of young players e.g Fainu's and have them poached by other club or tying up salary cap space then not performing.

The retention committee need to target players in positions that we are lacking depth in.

He's a power runner but does he have a silky pass as centre requires? Even if not, he's probably worth persevering with as a To'o style winger.
At this point we have Saab,Paulo(3 yr contract) and Tuipulotu ahead of him on the wing.
We have Koula(who should be first up at fullback when Tom gets injured again) as well as Garrick who is not proven at centre and Talau who does not fill me with confidence in the centres.Parker may re-sign but is probably not the answer.
Makes sense to me to give it a shot.......

Big names???

Ben Condon, Kaeo Weekes, Zac Fulton, Kelma Tuilagi and Karl Lawton.

With Harper and Boyle gone we should now be able to sign some more Tigers.

That try scoring machine Twal, fumbling-bumbling Noufalouma (who is often a no-show eg last Friday) and what about Adam Douehi, Brett Naden or even Charlie Staines.
Twal would score more tries in a space of a few games than he has in all of his time with the tigers.

It’s ok to move players on but you need better players to replace them - player market is pretty thin at the moment.
It’s thin as far as top level players go,but Manly aren’t really looking at the top shelf ones. There is not one of those reported 5 that were regular first graders this season, maybe Tuilagi, but he proved to be questionable and there’s better options currently at the club

Media just making up stories to get clicks.
They have written a story and used one of a few words to cover there arses when its found to be false.

The start of the story using the word could.
They also use the words alleged, appears, reported among others when they know what's reported is a load of crap.

I agree, that article is v poor, saying that Thelma is free to chase a permanent first grade position elsewhere and will be in demand after 2 solid years in first grade with us and the tigers. He hasn’t played much first grade for us and he didn’t for the tigers either. Article contradicts itself in two sentences

A cull in necessary. I hope some of our lower grade players start stepping up. Players I think should go and why:

Talau: backflip, too much centre depth
Harper: too much centre depth
Weekes: given permission
Lawton: given permission
Tuilagi: given permission
Condon: given permission
Johns: just not good enough
Matterson: When we are fit, he's low on the pecking order
Fulton: given permission (and not good enough)
Woods: too old, too slow, too ineffective
Boyle: Injury prone, has had his chance
Aloiai: I'd release him - ordinary in every way

That's 12 players I'd let go or not re-sign. With their coin, bring in new depth and potential.

My new top team:

01. Tom Trbojevic 18. Clayton Faulalo
02. Jason Saab 19. Christian Tuipulotu
03. Reuben Garrick 20. Tommy Talua
04. Tolu Koula 21. Brad Parker
05. Jaxson Paulo
06. Luke Brooks, 22. Jakob Arthur
07. Daly Cherry-Evans 23. Jamie Humphreys
08. Taniela Paseka 24. Toff Sipley
09. Gordon Chan Kum Tong
10. Matt Lodge
11. Haumole Olakau'atu 25. Ben Trbojevic
12. Josh Schuster
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Lachlan Croker
15. Josh Aloiai
16. Sean Keppie
17. Ethan Bullemor

Just sayin’

I tip Humphries to be eased into the halves when DCE retires.
