Brett Stewart's done it all, but would he do it all again? Perhaps not

I am really pleased to see that Brett is in a good place now and is enjoying his life and new venture down in Melbourne. To see him in pain while playing was hard. To see his heart broken by his brother leaving and to see him nearly destroyed by the diabolical stories posted about him by so called journalists with integrity was devastating to watch.

When Brett arrived at Manly in 2003, we were a shadow of a club and he, his brother and few other key players put the planks in place to not only rebuild our club but to make it a feared force for years to come.

Brett with the ball was simply poetry in motion, not only could he find the try line at will, as he got older his vision with the ball set up so many tries for the guys around him.

Without a doubt my favorite player from 2003 to 2015 and next Saturday will be an emotional day for all of us as Brett finally gets to enjoy the recognition from our home crowd.

I am glad that he is doing better and hopefully, he can now really enjoy his life without the crushing and ruthless media scrutiny that he not only endured but SURVIVED!!!

You inspired our supporters for years, you played through pain and adversity. You are an advocate for people who suffer from diabetes and you are a player that will always make me smile when I think of how you played for us. Have a fantastic retirement and I really hope in time you can come back to the club in some capacity

Can't wait to watch his sendoff at brookie (hopefully it's on tv), I can't be there although still don't want to miss it for the world. Snake has been such a legend of the club and I'm extremely happy he doesn't seem angry at the club. Bye snake, good luck for the future (same goes to skivy and ballin)

One of the greats.

Was crucified in the media and not just for the court case incident but things like the brawl at Brookvale vs Storm and chatting that pig Gallop on Grand Final Day, to name a couple of incidents.

He deserved better, and he is right to be dirty. He done nothing wrong and that was proven but his name is forever tarnished.

There has to be a terrific book in Brett's career/life. He could dish the dirt on many media, shine a spotlight on gambling in RL, and tell the truth about the NRL not agreeing to his and Matai's career-ending injuries.
He has been through the highs and lows more than most, so his book - if truthful - would be a cracker.

Wonder how many players these days would give up their weekends and limited time for an unsanctioned BBQ, game of touch footy, and a muck around with the kids.

Brett Stewart, you're a legend.

So glad to read this. I've always believed that the false accusations really changed tho happiness of this bloke who had been a kid on top of the world. Glad that he's getting on with his life post footy.
Can't be there next Sunday due to geographics but really wish I could be.
Go The Snake!
Such a pity The Matai can't be there.
Wait did I miss a thread why won't Steve be there?
