Bring on the Knights!!

I’m most interested to see how young Croker goes in his first full game as 5/8.

I expect it will be nothing too flash, he’ll have a basic job to do and they have no doubt been practicing week in and week out on those basics.

If he can just get the ball quickly to his outside man ( which will be an improvement on Green), defend as hard as he can and be an option for 5th tackle kicks other than DCE he’ll have done his job.

We will miss Greens 5th tackle kicking and occasional 40/20 but you know what , that’s about all he had!

4 days, not that I’m counting.......much!!

Knights will be a tuff game. I Expect Manly to do a lot of defence and repeat sets as the refs will keep the local crowd happy with continued penalties throughout the match until the final minutes when Manly will get a couple of penalties to make the count look better.

I’ve picked us in the tipping Comp BUT to be honest I’m expecting a ref stich up??

They ( NRL) want the Knights to succeed and there’s nothing more than ensuring they win game 1 to see this start off the right way.

To be honest we should roll the Knights. We have one new player in the spine while every player is new in their spine. They will take about 7 weeks to jell. Plus on paper we are a much stronger side any way. I'm thinking it will be 13+ but I'll be happy with a 1 point win.

Only thing that is motivating the Knights is the wooden spoon times two and a spending spree, could be close but would be nice to flog them and get a valuable 2 points to kick off the year.

We have a MUCH better bunch of forwards than they do. If our big men are serious and play to their abilities without any ill discipline then we should tear them apart.

Look at these forwards. I am looking forward to this!!! Manly Team List Round 1 : 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Akuila Uate 3. Brian Kelly 4. Matthew Wright 5. Jorge Taufua 6. Lachlan Croker 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Martin Taupau 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. Addin Fonua-Blake 11. Curtis Sironen 12. Joel Thompson 13. Jake Trbojevic. Interchange: 14. Shaun Lane 15. Jack Gosiewski 16. Frank Winterstein 17. Kelepi Tanginoa

Hopes dashed again. Thanks to News.com.au for momentarily lightening the hearts of many of the Sea Eagles faithful. Mr Consistency has returned in 2018.
