Broncos "apology"

Sorry to hear of the problems that you encountered Mark. We never encountered anything like that when we were leaving. You must have just came across a bunch of tossers.

Started after we exited.

We were seated Milton Road End and had agreed to meet some MWTS friends at the Caxton, so had to go around Suncorp and walk up.

Copped it almost non stop from then.

Wasn't so bad in the Caxton Car Park bar , bit of banter but you'd expect that anyway.

Walking back to Roma Street, up Caxton Street about 1130pm was bad.

And then 4 young, very drunk fans got on at Milton and absolutely gave it to us for 5 minutes before we got off, that was the worst.

Very doubtful my wife will go to another game , ever!

Terrible news Mark. For some people (at a guess ignorant drunk groups of young males) a footy game is an excuse to behave in an anti-social manner.
I'd encourage you to pass your experience on to the Broncos and the NRL.
Fan behaviour is definitely something that can be influenced ... if there is the will to do so.

Most players empathise with opposition players, and good to hear Gillett's comments in that regard.
In fact, during the presser when Bennett started having a bleat about DCE's 'dive', Darius Boyd piped straight up and said he would probably do the same thing, at which point Bennett quickly said 'Oh yes I didn't mean it as a criticism of the player, just the rule'.

I might do that , if it was just me I'd probably just suck it up, but bad form to target a grey haired , obviously older, female , whose mistake on the night was to wear an opposition jersey.

My friend, it was not a mistake! If you can't wear your colours peacefully in public God help us all!

Which is often Wayne's position.

That is reeming out the players' collective stench trenches with his bowel trowel.

Uncle Wayne would find a way to complain about Tommy landing on poor Mead in a reckless manner putting his players in danger and the NRL should look into it and that it's due at lest in part to the Origin scheduling and and and ...

Anyone see that smug C$%* Parker and Sterling last night defending the tackle.

Facts are simple,

1. No one is suggesting Mead intended to injure Tom.
2. (as Blocker Roach said) Common sense says there is no difference between catching the ball On The Full and catching a High Bounce exactly the same risks involved.

Those QLD'ers (and others) are also annoying me about DCE diving. It wasnt a dive he lost is balance and stumbled after contact. Am I the only one that seen it that way.

Mark my apologies i now realize that i spotted you in the Caxton Car Park, if i had have known at the time i would have come up and said g'day. I was with my wife and we were initially in the centre of the car park but there were a few blokes being a bit obnoxious so we moved out to the outer where you were. Didn't stay for long not much to celebrate. Maybe this week.

It looked as much as dive as Gallens

No worries, yes lots of obnoxious Donkey fans last Saturday.

We went to a side area but didn't stay long.

Honestly they usually aren't that bad, but obviously 7-10 hours of heavy drinking will do that to you!!

Cheers mate

I Have lived in both qld and sydney more than once each but spent about 30 years in brizzie. Every state and every team has poor sports and poor humans but qld takes the cake. People n qld are poor winners. Not everyone of course but collectively they are just ugly winners.

It is generational and as they are a one team town it generally goes unchecked in society. People mistake it for passion or like to pretend it is.

It has to be the bogan capital of australia. Im leaving sydney this year but going back was never an option. Its a holiday destination and nothing more

How would the Bronco's Twitter guy, and Wayne Bennett feel if the league targeted Darius Boyd by bombing, waiting for it to bounce, then all the opposition kept chopping his legs out from under them?

Does anyone think they'd be claiming "great play" then?
You'd think the team that lost Jharal Yow Yeh to a similar injury would be a little more sympathetic.

I hope that is not the outcome, but one can hardly blame her if it was....

I suspect the behaviour was alcohol fuelled cognitive dissonance....

they had just seen their team lose, except on the scoreboard, so they had tanties just like lowlife losers would.....whilst Queenslanders could reconcile this in their minds 20 years ago, it is very difficult for their generally small intellects to cope now that they know they are getting a leg up nearly every week....

Just Sayin!!

Whilst we are on this, and I was going to mention it, thought I wouldn't but here it is, ......I doubt I'd attend a Double Header again.

The vitriol and antagonistic attitude to my wife and I as we were leaving, going to Caxton Street for a few quiet drinks with some friends and then going to AND on the train was the worst I've experienced in Brisbane.

Now I understand you might get this at every Souths / Bulldogs game but it's something I've never experienced up here in the 15 years I've been attending games ( SOO is totally different they are off their faces feral then).

The Brisbane fans are usually pretty good at a normal game, we often get some friendly banter but never anything untoward.

Until last Saturday!

And I think it's to do with the long day and night ( of drinking massive amounts of grog).

Caxton Street was packed at lunchtime, so many of them had been drinking heavily for up to 10 hours by the time they left.

Outside the Stadium we were pushed , shoved , spat at, abused , my members cap stolen ( and no doubt destroyed) and my wife ( your typical grey haired Nanna) was quite distraught by the time we reached the safety of our hotel room.

Many of the MWTS people we were having pre game drinks with all said the same thing had happened to them, and most won't return
next year.

I feel the #BronxNation haven't covered themselves in glory as a result.

I don't go to SOO games any longer due to this but it now has transcended into normal games.

I remember this post and today my facebook gave me a memory from 2012. I thought it explains a lot

The creation of mankind has always been debated. Many believe man evolved from apes and if you have ever had tickets to the sell out origin game at Lang Park its difficult theory to dispel . Others believe God created man in his own image and if you have tickets to an origin game in sydney its a very compelling arguement. One thing is for sure, when civilisation was created there was man, woman, and queenslander supporters.

Sorry to hear that mate and the arrogant boncos supporters go on about how all the other clubs supporters are grubs. Yeh I haven't been to a Manly game in Bris for a couple of years, I tend to get a bit fired up and nearly get into fisty cuffs and things like that. I limit myself to the Titans where half the ground is Manly supporters anyway, and we usually win which helps. Took the family the other night, awesome night out. Titans supports are normally pretty chilled, although I spose their team doesn't give them too much to get excited about.
