Bullet out for 5 months. We're stuffed

I watched quite a few SCSE games last year and Dennis Sandow can certainly find the line, he'd have to be the 2nd best fullback at the club, though it would be nice to see a backline reshuffle that saw foran at 5/8 th @ 7, lyon and matai in the centres and robbo and farah on the wings with Sandow @ fullback - sure we might not win a lot games @ first with this backline but realistically where not going to anyway.

Kiwi, Robbo is not a 'safe option'.  Just recall last season please.

I know mate, but it is worth remembering we also strung together a run at the end of the season with him there. Won't win us games from that position, but won't make massive cock ups either

As stated, I would love to see Wolfman at 1 but that is not to be either. Farrar would be my pick for this week from what is available, and as stated elsewhere I don't think it is Hoppa's time just yet

I don't mind the safer option so much when the season is still on the line, but would hate to see it if we are out of contention for the comp early

I'll predict Monday night was Stewart's last game at fullback.  He'll never have the speed again with his knees.

If he comes back it will be as a five eighth.

Just to cause some concerns for the superstituous. Snake made his debut against Parra at Parra when he was just a bit older than what Hoppa Jnr is now. He lasted about 15 mins before Lyon palmed him off and he did his shoulder................
:-\
I believe the match was at Brookvale.
Defintely at Parra - I was there right on front of where it happened. Jamie Lyon ran over him like a truck on a rampage. If memory serves me correctly Hoppa also broke his leg that day, though that might have been another one.

This news has shattered me. From thinking we are a big chance I am suddenly wondering what the future of our club is.

Robbo is not a bad fullback, it is just that compared to Brett Stewart he is only solid at best. Stewart is the 'X' factor that gave out game it's shape and speed. I am in mourning!!!!

"Beware the ides of March Brett"...if only we told him that last year  :(

And onto another cheery subject - isn't Brett's court case scheduled for final hearing in late March?? Does memory serve me correct in thinking its around March 22nd?? I reckon he'll go on holidays every March from now on.....

Hoppa at fullback, Lyon and Whare at centre, Farrar and Robbo at wing, Foran and Hodko @ 6&7, Foran swapping with Lyon sometimes, plus Manly's great forward pack & bench.....now thats a pretty good team! All might not be lost ladies and gents...

Manly Backer just answered my question re the court case with his article - yes MB is faster than a speeding bullet as usual  ;D

Cheers, BG

Karmichael Hunt?

Where are we going to get the 1mil plus from?
Is that what he's on with rugby?  Outstanding, I'm glad my boys are playing junior rugby then.

I don't think there'd be much left of the cap, we have re-signed Lyon, Choc and looking to extend G stewart and others.

If he's playing park ping pong what's the cost of a call to the Gold Coast?

Call all you like but I bet he'll will price himself out.

Yeah well like everyone im gutted too,but we have proven we can win without him (trying to be positive),my two cents is that i want to see des blood hoppa and or whare ,i read in the manly daily a short time ago that whare was second only to b.stewart in the speed test so since he is the second fastest in the club and speed being a major attribute i would personally like to see him get a run aswell as young hoppa. Its early days in the competition and if des throws caution to the wind now and gives either or both of them a shot for 2-3 games to see how they go i couldnt see the harm,if they dont perform or we lose the games they play in,then reassess,i'm always seeing other clubs do it as in bring in young guys who step up and play well, i just wish des would take a chance rather than trying to play it safe with his selections,i really wanna get a look at these young blokes (hoppa jnr and whare) we have in an NRL game.

My brother told me on the way to hospital to visit Dad. I didn't believe him I thought he was mixed up with last year.
What a costly tackle. I really hope he can get back to full strength. Such a waste of an awesome athlete if he doesn't.
Time for the team to find new combinations.
Fullback perving on hold for 5 months.
It was good news for my Dad today though, he walked (with help) for the first time since going to hospital on Thursday. He actually told us that he'd fill in for Brett. I might call Des. He doesn't seem to want to put the young blokes in.

Time to throw my occasional 2 cents in..2010 is manlys yr to blood! Throw hoppa, whare, trent, lussick and buhrer in (if 2nd rowers or locks are needed down the track)...
We all know manly are no shot for a title tilt this year,I don't wanna see em waste this opp to check out the young guys, look at the raiders, duggan, carney, vidot, waddell all have talent and all 20 or under....now I know ppl will say "but canberra suck"...which I fully agree, but that's because they have ppl like tilse and tongue(works hard but really dosent mean a lot to the teams goforward)and TLL (who may as well be renamed paul harragon,as he hasn't strung together  5 games in a row in 4 years),but imagine those young guys behind rose, king, kite, choc, and glenn, would be a killer team...bottom line, play the kids, how can we possibly put ourselfs in a worse position than we already are?????

Easy fixed.

Foran to fullback.
Hodkinson & Lyon halves partners.
It's far from the worst scenario put forward.  I don;t think we'll see it though.
