Burgess owned The forwards

First Grader
After destroying the Eels pack last week, the Manly boys finished a distant 2nd today.
It was a 1 man army in Sam Burgess early, bustling players in attack and the key moment, early in the game he came out of the line and smashed AFB with Manly red hot on attack.
Lost the ball and any momentum and the Rabbits lifted - Manly put up the white flag.

Once Tapau expressed his inner thoughts publicly, I thought ‘this could be a tough day at the office’.

The recovery session should have a segment where Tapau is tied down and Jake, Parker and Hastings repeatedly kick him in the teeth and scone him with a Louisville slugger.

Pathetic big headed not gunna turn up attitude .Barrett needs a kick in the arse as well.they should have been prepared for an ambush.
That will be the last bad game this year, they will turn up to play every game from now on.

Trust Sam to pull out his best game in years against us.

Our forwards just wilted under the pressure and it’s not Twenties fault he wasn’t doing the tackling or the hit ups.

Young Croker was more effective in stopping them than the forwards were, and that tells the real story of the day.

Whoever wins the forwards battle usually wins the game.

As disappointing as the loss was it was not as heartbreaking as those close matches when a bad ref's decision sinks you.
I'll put this down as an aberration. We all know how well these guys can play. Pride comes before a fall.
Let's hope we look back at the end of the season and mark this match down as the turning point. We want a team of humble triers who play as a team and let their on-field performance speak for itself - not a team containing boastful sledgers who think they are better than they are.

They seemed to be waiting for the Manly power game and came out swinging.
Once Manly were shut down in the middle, I was kind of waiting for a plan B..... but there was none.....kept trying to continue with this option and the game kept getting further out of reach, never really looked up for it or in the contest after being stopped in that middle third.
Not every team are going to be marshmallows like Eels in the forwards and Manly seemed surprised that they didn’t get the luxury like last week and worse still, when Rabbits showed they were up for it, they won the early arm wrestle and after winning numerous contacts...the Rabbits were high giving and back slapping while the Manly boys dropped heads.
When it became a battle, only 1 team wanted to be part of it.

Where’s Jason king when you need him
Yeh the king dog copped some but more than matched hem with a major ingredient our boys lacked yesterday- enthusiasm.
After AFB got thumped by Sam, I was expecting the Manly forwards to regroup with extra aggression and hunt them as a pack, but just copped the Souths dominance and went out with a whimper....sad day at the office.

Optimism might be the only thing we have if they are that hot and cold

Easily the most apathetic display from a Manly side in a long time. They left their attitude in the shed and were there in name only. That was embarrassing for any fan to have to stomach. Knowing that they are capable of such a capitulation is unnerving.
