I just think that when it comes down to the very tight big games they lack a bit of class.

At the moment they remind me of the sharks before they added AFB to their pack. A very good team that does not have another "level" come semi final time.

All that said I am not sure i know a heap about NRL so there is a more than a fair chance I am very very wrong

I dunno… there is a crazy stat that the dogs have outscored teams 120 points to 18 (or similar) in the first 20 min after halftime of games this year…

To me that says that the forwards are not dropping off like some of the bigger packs, the coaching staff are unbelievable at identifying necessary changes and inspiring their squad and the spine is executing game plans effectively…

Add that to the fact they get a 6 point head start in a GF (as Crichton has never played in a GF without scoring) and I can definitely see them taking it out…

Imo the sharks have never had the defensive resolve of this dogs squad and defence wins finals…

I think they can win the comp and I think they think they can too. Plenty laughed at their recruitment strategy (edit - including me!) but turns out it was a great strategy. Whether Ciraldo or Gould or more likely both were in on it.
I've been waiting for the bubble to burst but ... it won't! Touched up v Broncs yet came back to win the 2nd half, and recent games v Raiders and Chooks shows that was no fluke.

(So at this stage I reckon Dog v Manly Gf) (with Manly to win via a Tolu Koula classic move) 🙂

I agree. I can see them getting done on GF night against the Storm but I don’t think they’re pretenders and could easily win it. The best kind of wins for team psychology are the ‘never beaten’ wins they’ve had the last two weeks. Essentially, winning is becoming a habit for the Dogs, even when they’re slightly off. The belief a side gains from those types of performances cannot be understated.

We were horrible against the dragons and lost by 2, we're crap in Perth and lost by a try and after a good start against the wahs we lost that one.

2 of those we should of won and we are on 16 points and are in 3rd. Which if you buy in to the Siebold loving media rhetoric is where we should be.

Next 8 weeks makes or breaks seibs career at manly for me.

We need to finish top 6 or better or the season is a fail and based on results he should be moved on.

Agree. Escaping origin relatively unscathed (so far) means there are no excuses. Need to be more consistent, starting with a win this weekend.

Honest question - if i told you before the season the following had happened

• DCE went on national TV to announce he is leaving he club at the end of the year and has been playing poorly since
• Jake looks barely a first grader
• Tom has missed games through injury, and has played busted the rest of the time
• Paseka our best prop is out for the year
• Regular first graders Aloiai, Talau and Croker haven't, or barely played

How would you feel about sitting 6th after 10 weeks?

I’d never move a coach on unless the team is getting smashed regularly. It’s not the answer. It’s easy to get frustrated with middle of the road and go testing the waters for another coach to just see what might happen, but it’s fraught with danger.

Yep but Hunt and Walsh both out although missing Chez is massive for us…

Defence win games, and we did just that against the cows. If we can work hard on defence we can win it this year. Scoring pts is not our problem, about 3-4 games we should have won instead lose by 1-6pts. We would've been sitting comfortably in the top3. Every team below us has a worse for/against than us only Broncos just better 42+, 38+. 3teams ahead of us Dogs, War, Storm already had the bye only Shark, Raider hasn't yet.

Ironically Knights have lost 7 games yet have the 2nd best defence!!!

I would have said no but, after the way they played the last 2 weeks with blokes out and earlier in the season with Burton out, yeah I think they probably can…

seems they are all buying into the system and, unsurprisingly, they have a bit of a riff feeling (next man up) to them…
