Cap relief for Sea Eagles

Had we jagged Pearce ( not withstanding injuries ) we’d be top 8 for sure now!

It was VERY costly in the scheme of things!

So was suspending Neil Bare for 12 months. And don't think Greenturd didn't know that......

Our "crime" was in no way shape or form anywhere near the level of what the Dogs, Warriors, Storm and Eels had done previously. Yet our punishment has been far worse for the long term than any of those clubs had to endure.

One good thing is that the cows and parra play each other next week.

Thurston's last year will trump over any western Sydney bias from the NRL. Can't have one of the earmarked next Immortals leading his team to the wooden spoon in his final season.

Besides, if their form next week is anything like they both played this week.....the Cows will probably win anyway even without referee help. But even after his expletive not deleted talking to Cecchin tonight, they will still get the calls. Cecchin is on his way out so the NRL could care less about him.

Have a look at the Cowboys penalty counts, even though they have been down the bottom all year they pretty much win the count in every game.

could care less about him

Honestly mate I don't mind what you post. But there is a but.

Could care less v Couldn't care less..

If you could there is a little care factor there so you do care.. If you couldn't care less you can't care any lower..

Sorry but just being my pedantic best. I don't think there are any loosers (sic) here

If we are exonerated from this cap witch hunt then Greenturd must fry for what he has done to our club!!!
This ^

The 800,000 documents that the NRL claimed to have read was just a lie.

The financial damage to Manly is immense, let alone the tarnishing of our Brand.

Sponsors, members, potential players and staff have all been kept away from the alleged 'cap cheating' Club @

Bozo's mates will be blowing his trumpet, but he has sadly let Manly flounder without support all year 😎

I'm guessing it will be some give and take. This year's cap penalty applies. Next year's is suspended pending quantification of the 3rd party deals.

The title is "cap relief for sea eagles" though...

I wouldn't be surprised if Buzz was just doing it to get the fans hopes up, only to have them slammed down again when the NRL refuses to budge on the punishment.

Agree will wait to see what this (if any) 'significant' reduction in penalty is before getting excited. Buzz has been on the front foot sticking the boot in. No doubt that Greenburg bobble head Hooper will do his best to deflect any negative perception of his overlord master and/or NRL

Why the hell would the NRL / Turdburgler do anything that could possible benefit Manly? They've done nothing but do us in the ass without lube for years and that is not going to stop soon.

While you can sue anyone for anything (it just may not work in your favour), Lyall has mentioned a couple of times that the outcome of the review and subsequent nrl ruling will be the last and accepted ruling. That is, the club will move on.

As for Buzz's story: any good or half decent news by the rotten core of a few sports 'journos' makes me nervous. I remain firmly planted in the 'believe it when I see it' camp.

Does everyone see the increase anti anti Manly propaganda when the team can not make the finals? It's like they always hold back a little bit in case we get into the top eight and prove them wrong; but when there is no chance, the gloves are off.

(Debacle of a season on and off field notwithstanding)
I agree 100%. It was a deliberate sabotage of our club, if anyone cannot see that, then they should open their eye,s

Other clubs....i.e. Dogs, Warriors, Storm and Eels.....cheat the cap and essentially are given a slap on the wrist for the year they got caught (though not Melbourne, but we all know that story) with loss of competition points and a fine. Manly? Greenturd said in that presser that we weren't even over the cap, yet labels us as blatant cheats and we get hit not only for the year we got "caught", but the next bloody year as well hampering not only recruitment but sponsorships.

To make a similarity with the law.....the other clubs committed armed robbery and got a suspended sentence. We got caught speeding, didn't stop and led the cops on a merry chase for a few kilometre's and got 2 years in gaol.

A better analogy is probably that we rang the cops ourselves and said “we think we might have sped but we’re not sure”.

Remember the thing that is forgotten in all this is that we self reported and yet we’re dealt with more harshly than every club that has been caught red handed. It’s so forked!!

Still seems largely like a rear guard face saving and a continued " Get at Manly ' agenda or crusade by Grennbeg after the failed betting investigation so called scandal Also .over what still primarily seems like a fairly benign technicality , Sadly the damage has been done , on most indications quite farcical and unlikely but really should be some redress if Manly is actually mainly cleared .

Yes and he was a key staff member we haven’t had since then!!

It’s a ****ing conspiracy mate!!

He has.
Why is that the case?
Because our owner does not have the pride, passion or balls to hold the NRL responsible for the trauma they have intentionally inflicted on our club.

I am the first call this current admin we have into question.

But I think its a bit harsh to say they have not given their all in defence of these rubbish charges.

Not sure what more they could have done???

Might not be up to them, the findings in the appeal would be presented and any flaws will be seen by both the NRL and Manly. If the appeal panel say this is what you could be exposed to due to your flawed investigation then the NRL have exposed themselves to a higher appeal process. In which case it's not the NRL doing anything to help us but sweep as much as possible under the rug and strike a deal with Manly that would see this whole ordeal disappear.

Again we'll see what this all means as we have been smashed in the media and Buzz of all ppl reporting something positive has me skeptical.
