That was a tough old win. Old fashioned kind of game, The Roosters over the game looked more dangerous and Manly's desperation especially last ditch defence won the day.

We spent most of the game in our own half with the ball and our ball security was better. We need to be careful of that as you cant expect to defend like that every game.

Tommy Turbo showed an other side to his game, always a threat with the ball this time last ditch defending. He saved two certain tries tonight. Keary must still be wondering how he did not score?

The best thing about the win is in the 2nd half we barely got into their 22 and two times we did we came away with points thats the sign of a good team.

If the team defends as it has done in rounds 1 and 2 we will give this premiership a shake, its early season and you hope that we do more with the ball because we have been rather predictable with it so far.

Special mention to Dylan Walker who did a really good job and Levi who gave quality service.

Shame we could not be there as those are the sort of games that you live and breathe every play!

I agree with all of that and with Addin and Jake having basically no pre-season we are only going to get better. We'll give the premiership a hell of a shake this year.

So play we played the two best sides in the comp with a win and a loss and that isn't good enough for you, DCE and the team played to a game plan, sorry it didn't entertain you, i was pretty happy with the win, do we need to win by 20 every week so you will be happy. I love how we play a bit off and won the game, still pretty exciting game

Yes the win was really good, iv been watching last seasons games and we are playing very differently. Tommy isn't running out of dummy half and Levi isn't running either. We did face two of the best defensive sides and sides who nake you pay ie storm if you cant hold the ball. We can belt the warriors into the stratosphere! And we WILL! dce will come alive next week. He really struggled today but great game winning kick

you could probably attribute all that to the roosters having the best structured defense in the comp and with no crowds to boo the refs they were basically offside every set of six in defense

Only thing pissing me off with dce is his kicking game. Apart from field goals off course. Dont know why we kept kicking to topou when the other wingers a bloody average rookie. Apart from that theres not a whole lot of better halfs atm in the league.

Very happy to be wrong.. thought we would lose a tight one for sure.. happy with the result, although still stand by my concern for our attack.. managed 1 try in 160 minutes of footy.. defence is unbelievable tho

I'm going to be shot down here I know but I'll give what I think are the pluses and minuses about Manly's efforts for the past two weeks

Pluses

Except for a lapse of concentration in the first game, the defence is excellent.
Tommy Turbo and DCE are stars through and through.
The forwards hold their own consistently and are a credit to Des's training. They are doing fine and just need to continue what they are doing now.
Levi is doing his job.

Minuses

Manly's attack relies too heavily on DCE and Turbo. Despite Walker having a top game, I still think he is wasted at 5/8 and though the three quarters is defensively doing a great job, in attack its stalled. There have been two line breaks from Manly total in the past two weeks, while there's been five against them. They've scored one try in two games. We are getting through because of defence, and naturally defence is essential. There's at this time little threatening in the back line other than DCE and Turbo. Walker's pace is wasted at 5/8

Great win and but for a short loss of concentration, Manly has done an excellent job against two of the heavyweights in the comp. 9/10 for defence, 6/10 for attack. I know I'm boring you all with it, but someone like Schuster adds the spark that the back line needs. Shift Walker to centre, Suli to Taufua's wing spot. I'm confident that such a move would improve Manly's attack dramatically.
