Clayton Faulalo

He is skilful and ethusiastic, but he makes almost no metres when rucking it out from our own end and regularly gets rag-dolled. Whilst he is skilful, he isn't (yet) 1st grade standard in this part of his game.

He’s extremely skilful. Up there with the most skillful guys we have. But he still gets rag dolled coming out of our end and makes some bad defensive decisions.

A good backup but probably not a starter yet in my opinion
So does Saab, but this guy can catch the ball and can jump over the op to score, slightly less fast but fast enough, if he can keep playing like last night I reckon he's better, time will tell.

Really its about technique and young Hoppa is living proof of that. He always hits the gap between two defenders however small and pokes his head threw low to the ground and rarely gets dragged backwards yet he is about 75kg wringing wet.

To some extent but you can have a great technique and still get dragged backwards; it’s more that size is not an indication of strength. I’ve seen people with huge biceps lose arm wrestles to people half their size. It’s something to do with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular coordination. Basically, Hoppa is a genetic freak. Of course, you’re right that his technique is also top shelf. He seems to have great timing too; his fend is brilliant.

Fox Commentary on Saturday night said he was around 90kg
I thought he looked to have thickened up, there were a couple of images that made me think his added to his frame, hard to imagine his only 82 kg at 190cm’s, plus his in the age bracket of life where the growth can be rapid, his gene pool also suggests he’ll thicken up somewhat more, not hard to imagine him playing in a 100 kilo plus frame in the not to distant future.

Brandy said I think 85kg ,but I'm a seller at 85k and a buyer 78kg .
Its his technique of hitting the opposition wall which is fantastic ,he uses his body weight what there is of it to maximum effect, much like a skilled boxer or martial artist .He is soo good to watch
I just realised this is a Clayton thread and I was musing on Hoppa .
Anyways back on topic Clayton was excellent on Saturday night

He's of Tongan background, soon in a few years he'll b playing next2 Ola or even Peseka. He needs to stop eating salads and get back to the healthy stuff grandma Traditional Roasted pork full fat under UMU fired pit, KFC, Maccas and seafood by next year he'll b bigger than his old man and might b in da same position as Nik Kosef ( same height, same skilled ) or even Ola or Peseka, fingers cross.
