No excuses for those tragedies but all clubs push players to the limitsCan't blame Lloyd ... at the time, when it was clear he was finished as an NRL player, I was surprised that no action was taken and again when Keith suffered heat stroke at training I thought about Lloyd, I'm not surprised by this. Not good for the club.
Not good for the Penn’s you mean.Happened under Barrett’s watch so none of the coaches or support staff are there anymore.Interesting that Perrett mentions Gould “shook his head in disgust”.The same Gould that said Barrett would be the next “super coach” and the signed him to the Dogs. Can't blame Lloyd ... at the time, when it was clear he was finished as an NRL player, I was surprised that no action was taken and again when Keith suffered heat stroke at training I thought about Lloyd, I'm not surprised by this. Yes 2018He's getting a pay out from the club simple.
Does that go all the way back to Barrett's time?
In this Crazy World the Legal Flood gates are well and truly open feathered friendI am no legal expert but drawing a line between abuse and the need to develop , enhance and test player rigour for what is currently one of the toughest sports in the world is somewhat a grey one. If the bulldogs case or this one get up the flood gates will open to the detriment of the game. I would also imagine the club would have some kind of indemnity insurance for this kind of thing…the loss adjusters will be in a spin..
Blacktown is 10th, Flegg is 9th, SG Ball is 14th & Harold Matt’s is 7th & we are gonna complain about looking for better juniors? Every club has missed/let go of a young player they would regret just look at Galvin now who Parra thought wasn’t good enough, it’s apart of the game. Sure they might miss the next Jacob Preston, or maybe they might find the next Olakau'atu who knows? Good to see they are at least trying something. BTW not sure what their religion has to do with anything unless the NRL adds a pride round for some reasonGreat.
More potentially problematic (think religious quackery etc.) recruits from western Sydney - totally devoted to the Manly-Warringah cause (not) - at the expense of the next Jacob Preston, et al, from our own junior league.
