Surprised there's no mention of Brooks. Hasn't been a world beater, but still better than some of the 'unlucky to miss out' lot.

Brooks copped a bit of criticism over the Souths loss and really, he should have stood up and taken charge even though that's not his natural game. He wasn't just our senior half in the game ... technically he was our ONLY half thanks to some cough boneheaded selections cough.

But since then he's stood up and has been among our best. Its also come with combining more with the halfback, either Cherry or Humphreys, than he was. He's still running, but he's now combining it with some play making with the half or fullback now that Turbo seems back to fitness and form

Godfathers are Ruthless Leaders and you have to be Ruthless to Rule
There is a saying that nice guys finish last and our Legendary Manly Godfather and the Benchmark of our clubs premiership winning success ensured Manly finished first at all costs

Our Godfather was a Gentleman personality wise but his character was Ruthless and Brutal in dealing with rival clubs .

There was no salary cap in his era but there was the moral code of the "Spirit of the Game"
But Arkos priority in the game was to win and for Manly to become winners and just like Al Capone he ruthlessly and brutally ripped the heart and soul out of rival clubs by poaching their super star players and made Manly the super star studded supreme club in our Decade of Dominance
