This should be pretty much week in week out.If he keeps it simple we’ll mitigate the obvious scoreline.
For me ( if I was the coach ), this is my pre game speech
Let’s keep it really simple , completing our sets and getting a decent kick in at the end is paramount.
Skipper & Brooksie , your jobs , long kicks into the corners.
Backs , support these long kicks and try and limit their movement up field, frustration will lead to mistakes.
Forwards your job, slow their play the balls down BUT don’t give away penalties , we need to try and hold them in the middle.
IF, we get opportunities at their line , do our best but at least try and get the set restart, don’t panic , build the pressure.
Penalties PLEASE keep these minimal , only give away if it’s a try saver.
Everyone , do your job in defence , no rushing out of the line , slide to cut them off.
If we get behind in possession IT WILL EVEN UP, just do your jobs and work together as a team, don’t hang your heads if we get behind , possesion will change and we’ll get our chances.
Yes they are up the top for a good reason but every side is beatable, now go out there and make the fans proud .
PS: I’m not the coach , or even a pretend coach but this is what I’d say.
I will add to this, that when Garrick or Saab field Storm bombs in our 20m, Tom and Tolu get to dummy half on tackle 2, look to pass, deceive markers and scoot like hell. Next tackle, blind side back to wing, etc.
These guys should be making valuable metres to start our sets and give our middles a fighting chance.
