Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Changing the coach over and over again is not going to suddenly change our fortunes. It's just not. So for mine we may as well stick with the plan and see how it plays out.
Which Head coaches did we change over and over gain ?
1.Barrett . What Impact has he had ? He had been sacked by Manly and the Dogs for underperforming and he is now demoted to Assistant coach
2. Des Hasler Mark II . What impact has he had ? He has also been sacked and is now underperforming at the Titans and looks like he is heading for the sack again
3. Seibold is a middle of the road sacked Souths Demitriou type of coach and another underperformer

The moral of the story
If you keep signing mediocre performing Head coaches
Dont expect your fortunes to change feathered friend @Wombat64

How do you rate 2V as a coach? Took us to a grand final, yeah?

So, was it 2V’s fault we lost the gf?
The Great 2V was accountable for taking his team to the Grand final and also accountable for his team losing the grand final
All Head coaches are accountable for their teams performance .
Just like Seibold was accountable for Giving the Broncos their first Wooden spoon in the clubs History

Technically Seibold was gone from the Broncos before the 2020 season finished, it was Peter Gentle who coached the remaining games.

My view is that just changing coach Grimace won't change things much. It will make some fans feel good but I doubt that the effect would be that we're suddenly winning comps or making the top 4. I don't think Seibold is a world beating coach but he's not the worst coach we've had (Barrett takes that place) and I don't think he is the worst coach in the comp. Our issues are bigger than just the coach, to be a consistent premiership force we need change from the top down...... In a perfect world I'd love rich owners who want to win premierships not just make a profit, someone at the top with the balls to fix an unbalanced salary cap and end the paying way, way, way overs for old players that are past it, recruiting a young mobile, aggressive forward pack, having someone at the club who is ruthless with cutting under performing players like the Roosters are consistently able to do, having a recruitment team that can actually attract top tier players and not just Tigers cast offs, having a proper pathways system for Juniors. Just my view but unless these things change then getting rid of coach Grimace is not going to do much and we're stuck in mediocrity and will be sacking coaches every three years and stuck with being satisfied with maybe making the finals 1 in every 5 years.

The things that need changing are really hard to charge and almost impossible unless the Penn family want to sell or invest in the club which they've shown they don't

Who do you think we should sign as a coach?

Moral of the story ...... life is not always a happy ending. The man who is paid to milk the precious life seed from a camel will not achieve much on his own unless the camel is happy for the life seed to exit. Ponder that one.

Look at the dogs… it took an overhaul of their entire system and consistently importing a bunch of players and a coach from the successful Penrith program to turn things around…

club culture is such an intangible thing to create but it is massively important and explains why the same teams are always up there competing whilst others can buy a bunch of excellent players from different clubs but still fail to see any reward…

Agree mate….coach is not the problem, rather underlying issues & unrest in the playing group. DCE leaving will be a blessing in my opinion only. Fogarty arriving will help greatly. Release some underperforming forwards…bring up a couple of young ones we already have. Give Simpkins time as head 9 & stop this Croker, Tevaga, GKCT preference! Sorry but Brbo is not the answer to compliment Olakau’atu. Need a smarter solid replacement. Jrbo is not a 13!!! Front row rotation for him until his contract is over. The reality is the club needs to grow some balls & start releasing players no matter their surname. Our backs can be the best, our forwards need to get more mobile. Give our backs space & time to do their thing. I truly believe a few changes in the forwards will do wonders. Paseka, Aloiai, Olakau’atu, TKO, Navale & Brown are keepers. The rest need to show something more.

Have to agree with a lot of that…

Personally I see some positives in the way the club has gone since Mestrov came on board (less leaking, good youth recruitment etc) so hopefully the whole DCE blow up is a blip on the radar and we will see improvement in the next couple of years…
