Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

Only 2 teams have achieved consistent success this year so far ... Bulldogs 9-1 and Warriors 8-2 ... every other team has mixed results .. other than the dismal Parra, who's consistency is heart warming.

4 of our losses have been at the hands of top 4 teams .... 4 of our wins have been against top 8 teams.

We're currently sitting 6th ... which most people predicted before the season kickoff. and this mostly with a patched together forward pack, a rookie hooker, a largely ineffective Turbo and the DCE curfuffle. Not excuses, but factors that obviously contribute to results.

I'm not about to throw the baby out with the bath water yet.

We're doing better than I expected. I was of the belief we would be about here, but being full strength.

We were at 5-1-5 this time last year, with similar negative points... Upset at home, losing in tight matches, going from losing against the Dragons to beating Penrith, losing three in a row etc. But last year, we had Paseka for every one of those games. We had a fit Turbo for every one of those games bar one. We had Croker for every game bar two. We had Tommy Talau breaking through and giving us backline depth. We have had basically none of that this year.

We have been far worse on the injuries front this year, and we've managed about the same. I'm holding out on this year, because we are yet to see us full strength, and I believe we will only be at full strength again right before finals. I think we could go on a bit of a run them.

That’s all true, but why is it that we are so inconsistent? It’s not just people on here saying it, you’ll find most commentators are saying the same about manly. Our best and worst are far to far apart. This win actually doesn’t surprise me that much. Just as it won’t surprise me if we turn in a stinker next week against the lowly eels. Let’s hope not and I hope I’m wrong.

When i watch our team compared to the front runners, we’re nowhere near a premiership team. Unless we manage to hit some top form as we come into finals (🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻) I can’t see us making a splash.

The boys surprised me last night. I never thought we were going to be flogged and even believed we were a good chance to win if we got on a roll. But I certainly wasn't expecting us to win in the manner we did.which was very tough and defensively outstanding on a hot, humid night. The players lifted for Siebold and his coaching team.

Last nights win doesn’t count in this “ hate Seibold “ thread.

Everyone should know

***When they lose , it’s all the fault of the coach.

***When they win , it’s nothing to do with the coach.

Once you know these two simple rules you’ll feel at home in the thread.

What a load of rubbish. Right up there with your Bulldogs are struggling post. Did you actually read this thread. Come on Mark be a little more impartial.

Given Seibold's past time with England rugby, as well current Head of Performance Jon Clarke, wondering if there will be a Brookie joint training run between Manly Sea Eagles and the British Lions this July. The pom's coach is Andy Farrell the ex Wigan rugby league player. Clarke and Farrell played together at Wigan.

I’m pretty much done with watching Manly while Seibold is coach

The enjoyment is gone, the game plan is ****, and he puts guys like Lodge out there. I’ll keep an eye on it but for the first time in 30 odd years I won’t be going out of my way to watch every week

Given I put up with Des's stupid selections whilst remaining a defender of him, I've given Seibold a bit of leeway, but when you look at it, seriously?

- Brown, Lodge, Waddell combo being absolutely useless in defence and attack. What does he do when the last 20 comes around, and TKO is (presumably) injured? He axes Navale and puts these black hole idiots back on.

- Puts Arthur back on the right, when that side looked alright with Croker at halfback for 15 minutes. Doesn't return Croker there when Arthur is obviously having issues.

- Doesn't hook Waddell when the game is gone anyway

- Gives Navale only sixteen minutes when we're down by 20.

- Seemingly Arthur had zero plan with the ball. I don't know whether that's down to a poor game plan, his concussion (?), or Arthur being a reserve grader.

These selections, minute allocations, and game plans are the things Seibold has control over. He doesn't control the fact that we don't have Jake, Paseka, AFB or some other bull****. Sacking the coach won't magically give us a good pack, or bring them back from injury. He can choose to give minutes to good performers though.

For what it's worth, our edge defence looked better, particularly Garrick this year, but seemingly at the cost of the middle defence? I'd like to see something different occuring.

Next Origin game...
7. Croker
8. Bullemor
9. Simpkin
10. TKO
11. Shmole
12. Burbo
13. Tevaga
14. Muagututia
15. Brown
16. Navale
17. Patolo? Idfk
