Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I’m wondering if Siebold has had enough of coaching. He came on to the scene with a bang at souths and got poached by the broncos before getting embroiled in all sorts of politics there.

Came back and had another crack at manly and it’s been somewhat mediocre.

He’s a smart motivated guy. He probably thinks this is a mugs game. I can do something else without getting beaten up in the press each week.

Already in the press that he is above head coaching and wants a General Manager role ala the man of a thousand bee stings Gould

The last week or so is prob the first time he's been beaten up in the press for ages.
Social media, on the other hand...
including this place, where he's been beaten up on an hourly basis pretty much ever since he signed with Manly

and Matai played most of his career with chronic neck and shoulder pain (understandable when you consider how hard he whacked in defence. Those hits would have hurt him almost as much as the victims)
Thanks for the memories feathered friend
What hurt Matai more than his impacted chronic injuries more was Manly losing
Matai was a highly competitive player
Matai played with passion to win and with no preservation with out regard for his own safety , well being or survival .
A player who put his body and his life on the line

Due to his exit from Brisbane ( and you know my side of that ) he was doomed on here from the moment he got the job.

I’m not yet convinced he’s a good coach but equally I’m not yet convinced he’s a bad one either.

There’s so much happening that’s extraneous to what he can do , injuries , limited funds , the captain issue & most of all limited in what he can buy with the cap problems.

But no doubt most on here have him as a dud and no doubt the fan pressure for him to be sacked is immense , however what none of them can answer is who is the replacement, and will we be better off by having him.

I honestly believe if you dropped in the best coach in the system ( let’s say Bellamy ) for a year ( with the same players / set up and same set of circumstance’s that confront the existing coach ) that the position on the ladder would be very very similar.

But that’s just my opinion and is very hypothetical.

Yep, he's a Dud!

Gee there are some people who have got a bit of sand in their Vag's this last week or 2. Harden up peoples, its just a forum.

And you are in the majority with that opinion.

But as I say , chuck in the best coach with the identical set of circumstances in his place and I bet our ladder position would be about the same.

So then we’d have , Belldud

Who’d be a coach , not me
If we had the best coach, the decisions would have been different, and we wouldn't be in this position. I had the same gut feeling about Barrett that I have about Seibold, and even serious attempts to look for the positives has come up empty handed. I get what you are saying, and I respect your opinion, but we will be an "also ran" until we get a blue-blooded Manly Man in there who is given time ala Des in 2004. Back then, he had no better coaching credentials than, say Matt Ballin, but because he understood the culture he grew into the role.

So let me understand this

A Manly coach would have stopped the D$E implosion ??

And would have instantly fixed our cap issues ??

And we wouldn’t have the injury crises with a Manly man ??

And you could add to that , would a Manly man see the owners pay more than lip service to the organisation ??

Look I get you hate Seibold , all good , we all have opinions , but I’m sorry I just don’t see how ( let’s say Ballin ) would magically have fixed all these issues and seen us in a better position.

So much on here is all about “ we only succeed with a Manly man “.

That’s certainly been the case in the past but NRL, circa 2025 is a completely different beast.

I believe the DCE situation would not exist if there was a Manly coach,or any other coach for that matter. The rest, well another coach can’t perform that many miracles

I think you're barking up the wrong tree, Bozo.
1 - I haven't noticed any passionate posts from you, although admittedly I often avoid scrolling through your posts because they are mostly repetitive spam
2 - what makes you think I edited your post?
3 - what makes you think I could edit your posts even if I wanted to? Don't you think if I could do that I might have done it long ago! @:D
4 - if you aren't posting any more then don't worry about posting responses to my questions, I'll just try to imagine what you would have said, if you were still posting.
