Simpkin to his credit is a pretty busy defender: last week he is counted with 40 tackles in 55 minutes topping our count. So certainly working hard. I do feel though that he doesn't hold the middle with the strength that Froggy does, and that is why the team is missing him. Him and Simpkin working in rotation, that should be OK I think.

Does anyone else think, or have people been saying, that Jake looks out of sorts? I was watching the game and thought he just looked a bit off? Could been a beer 🍺 haze......

I'll stick up for Froggy here.

He'd get a game with Parramatta.

Like it or not he's one of the senior players in the squad and part of (if not the) heartbeat of the playing group. May not be the most skillful or talented player, but he makes up for it in other areas. Every successful team needs players like that. I'm sorry but they do.

Not re-signing him creates a potential Glenn Stewart situation as well. Where one of the main people who brings everyone together and keep the harmony levels up in the group get moved on. Don't think the club, coaches or players want that.

Well, I can’t say that I was swayed by your mention of Parra… if you rattled off a long list of teams beyond the wooden spooners that may have helped. 😊

Watch some of Jake’s tackles this year closely.He is hitting hard.Watch first 20 min against the gummies and how many times he tackles Nikora where he stops him dead in his tracks.there was one tackle at about 4 minutes into the game which was a cracker…nikora looks like he ran into a wall.No doubt Jake apologised .

I think Simpkins is vastly overrated on Silvertails. He was exposed badly v Chooks last year in NRL, he's had plenty of chances since then and he goes OK but but so far he's simply not strong enough in defence to be a starter.
Bit worried about LC's future, thought he'd be back by now. Team misses him.

Simpkins defence has been one of the better areas of his game, his defence compared to Tevega is better.

Simpkins 190 tackles made and 12 misses.
Tevega 131 tackles made 13 misses.

He may well be overrated, though he is the best of the bunch at the club for me at nine.

I still think Croker's best position is as an 80 minute lock. His distribution from dummy half isn't good enough and let's not pretend it is just because none of the others aren't any better. He can graft all game and dig into the line and get a pass away. He also has a decent kicking game.

Times are tough when the Batman lights beam down in the shape of Croker
Tough and whole hearted, would be lucky to get a gig at many other NRL teams as the number 1 hooker and is far from an impact player
Would give him time in NSW cup as a lock and seen if he could add value as a half versatile option there

Billy Walter’s would be a handy hooker who can play 5/8 as well. Crocker would be great running the water and getting the team up that way.

He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee before Christmas 2024.

Interesting. Google tells me, because we don't have a live-in doctor, that worst case recovery for arthroscopic surgery is three months. Hmmm 🤷‍♀️

The injury reports are pretty basic and centres mostley on Tommy. With nothing on Croker and Lodge, and the same with Talau when he was out.

For those here who like conspiracy theories ...occasionally I do too, and it wouldn't totally shock me to learn Crokes has been having more problems from last year's head injury.
I also agree with all the comments about lack of transparency from the club, pretty slack to keep us in the dark.

Agree. The injury updates have been non-existent!

Maybe one of those types of injuries [ Croker ] where it is a little difficult to be pretty certain or definite about a set comeback time .
No doubt player welfare is always the highest priority .
Or has he been included in the cup side this week , no idea .
Certainly was getting battered and bruised at various stages last season on a more regular basis but a courageous competitor so naturally hope that any comeback sooner or latter can work out
