Crowd

What I'd like to see scheduled is:
Thursday night: 1 match
Friday night: 1 match
Saturday: 1pm, 3pm and 5pm (3 matches)
Sunday: 11am, 1pm, 3pm (3 matches)
No Monday night games
Channel Nine could have the Thursday, Friday and 3pm Sunday games, and Foxtel all the others. That means both networks coverage remains at the current status quo.
We'll get better quality matches because most are played in daylight, and the timings are far better for fans to get to matches.
Is this lunacy, or genius?

Like the idea but can't see a game happening at 11am on Sunday morning. I'd swap the Sat day 1pm to 7pm and Sun 11am to 5pm myself to make it more agreeable to fans and tv. You gotta give the TV companies something for their millions and I think these 2 new suggested time slots are more fan friendly too. But realistically I can't see it happening unfortunately.

But you say no more Monday night games which I agree with 100% but isn't a Thursday night game really just the same thing on a different weekday?

During May-July, have 1 Saturday arvo game at 4:00, and 3 Sunday games at 2:00, 2:30, 3:00. And the only Monday game should be Easter Monday, 3:00

Regarding Thursday night rather than Monday night. For me the round feels like its over by Sunday night. I forget about the Monday night matches unless Manly is playing. Thursday night allows a slow build up to the matches ahead. Monday night is an afterthought.

I just had an interesting chat to a former official in the greyhound industry who says they don;t worry about crowds. They charge a token $5 to enter Wentworth Park, and would be lucky to get 500 paying customers to a regular nightime meeting. It's all about TV and gaming revenue.
I couldn't help but think that this could be rugby league in the future. It's headed that way, unfortunately.
