I must admit I was another who most often referred to him as Cherry, too.

I'm going to defer my decision, prolong the fence-sitting...perhaps just until such time as the bourbon-ese @Alan speaks of, kicks in later!

I suspect even a clear win in the poll won't put an end to it all though.

Sid is demeaning to Chezza and we dont want to piss him off and lose him to the Broncos, so i would decline to use either of those two. I would probably then refer to him by his christian name, Daly.

Agreed. That's what I normally call him too. But it's not really a nickname. That's part of his name. That's like saying 'Daly' should be an option.

I know what you're saying Bones, yes it's part of his name. But I think of it as his nickname as well - as in Cherry..."Ripe" with talent!

I have still read all forum posts over the years, with interest.

On this subject, I felt I had to add my suggestion, which originated on the Grandstand Hill when Daly Cherry-Evans was coming through Under 20s.

To all of our group of supporters, he is known as (The) "Giraffe".
