Roosters did not end up signing Fifita because they felt after several meetings with him he did not fit in with their culture and apparently they were concerned about his work ethic.

He signed a mega 4 year deal.. uncle Nick promised him the world and I would say lots of Roosters "perks" in brown paper bags...they had already started making jerseys with his name on the back...

he backflipped in the contract cooling off period.. so nothing to do with his attitude or the Roosters being smooth operators at all.

He thought about it and just said..I'm no Rooster I'm not a latte siping cock (as in Rooster).

Please explain @Jimmie why the Roosters would utilise such a convoluted process? It seems almost nonsensical to me? The Roosters goal was to make it look like Fifita backflipped? When it was actually the other way round? Why didnt they just withdraw the contract, as it was within the cooling off period for both parties? I think your "source" is talking **** again.

Gee, I didn’t realise just how much Des has it in for Manly.

He's Manly through and through.. left us to do a "job" at the dogs and it took them 5 wooden spoons to recover from, he sent Foz and Choc over to the Eels to do a "job" on them..paying massive overs and both really hardly on the field.. but taking huge payouts. He's now over at the Titans and he will single handedly send us Fafita and ensure the Tits pay 50% of his contract for the next 2 years..
Now if only he can stretch it so we get Tino.. Des is back weaving his maroon and white magic dust. He never really left us. It was all a mirage.

You are correct ….but the way it played out was that the roosters made sure he backflipped with the KPI s they put in place and were happy with the result. If the roosters really want someone they don’t miss out.

that sounds odd. They’re allowed to withdraw the offer, they don’t need to add some KPIs after a few meetings and cross their fingers that he walks away.

For a player that's on around 800k, he doesn't play like one. He realized that going to the Chooks, a lot more would of been expected of him. Why bust your gut when you've already got a pampered lifestyle playing and living on the GC.

Sometime U have to enjoy yourself in your surrounding eg: coach, teammates, fans etcs. Imagine the brookie crowd going off for him. We're not the same as the GC crowd that's for sure. Also he's only 25yrs old, sign him for 2yrs with further options for 1-2yrs base on performance, by that time if he doesn't perform that's his career done back to nightfill at Woolies. 800k no more and get rid of Jazz, Waddell, Brown, TKO, Aloi etcs and bring in the boys when they're ready for 1st grade.

Also imagine DYoung and Saab on the wing, BOMBS AWAY would b try times every kick from JFogetty

I would have though, as much as we need another 2nd rower, our thin stocks in the middle of the park tend to rule this out

If the Titans foot half the bill it's a yes from me.

The problem is that we would really struggle in the halves without DCE for the rest of this year. Arthur doesn't have finals player energy to me and I'm not convinced that Brooks would lift as much as we'd need him to. God help us if Wakeham ends up being our starting 7 week in week out.

Jacob A is nowhere near as good as DCE in most respects .

He did play 5 or 10 mins as a 1/2 in a GF from memory in 2022 . I also see him in the Fogarty mould ,very measured without being spectacular and without the Diamonds and Rocks that a DCE can deliver. The other thing I also feel and why Manly went hard for the Fog was that Siebs thinks we have weapons, and what he wants is a 1/2 to unlock those weapons better rather just see yourself as the weapon which sometimes DCE does and then headless chook mode clicks in. Thats why having a Fifi on one edge and Oka on the other with the likes of Kouala or Garrick outside of them , is a pretty tantalising thought. I'm not saying letting DCE go is what should or will happen, but if it did and we had to use Jacob AND we picked up say someone like FiFi it wouldn't necessarily be the end of the world, as in many respects Jacob A is more likely to get the ball to the weapons as per instructions from the coach rather than have the DCE allowance to do what he wants for good or bad.

We don't have a top 30 spot for him. Tell me, who would we get rid of, that another club would actually take, that would get us anywhere near the $600k or so needed for him? Garrick is probably the only one. No way in hell is Fifita worth more to us than Garrick.
