He was well past it. I was thinking Marty Taupau is only one I can think of in recent(ish) timesNate Myles?

Dylan Walker was a fairly big name as well, Prior to that would have to Matt Orford, Jamie Lyon, Ben Kennedy. He was well past it. I was thinking Marty Taupau is only one I can think of in recent(ish) times
How many big names have we signed since 2010? Marty Taupau , Nate Myles (maybe) , Luke Brooks (barely a big name) , Kieran Foran returning. We mainly produce our own talent and steal talent from other clubs/codesManly use to be known to sign big name players. From all blacks, to wallabies, to players like gene miles for eg. Almost had zinzan Brooke, wally lewis.
Yeah Dylan Walker fair enough. Orford , lyon and Kennedy was a long time ago nowDylan Walker was a fairly big name as well, Prior to that would have to Matt Orford, Jamie Lyon, Ben Kennedy.
True, but I'm just naming players that were big name signings in a backwards sequenceYeah Dylan Walker fair enough. Orford , lyon and Kennedy was a long time ago now
But this is part of my point. When manly were great we had no problem in attracting the best. Its a point in where we are as club in recent timesHow many big names have we signed since 2010? Well we are due a big name signing. Hopefully they surprise usBut this is part of my point. When manly were great we had no problem in attracting the best. Its a point in where we are as club in recent times
Those are the only "big names" I've been glad for us to sign since 2005Prior to that would have to Matt Orford, Jamie Lyon, Ben Kennedy.
Nate Myles a QLD rep, Lewis Brown a kiwi international, Joel Thompson was a decent name. There haven’t been too many Big Signings by Manly since recovering from Northern eagles… but we are due!
2004 Michael Monoghan (yep at the time it felt like he was!)
2005 Ben Kennedy, Brent Kite,
2006 Matt Orford, Steve Bell
2007 Jamie Lyon
2008 Josh Perry
2009 Tony Williams (a big name youngster)
2016 Marty Taupau, Dylan Walker (and Api - not really a ‘big name’ signing back then)
2021 Josh Aloiai (scrapes onto this list, was fairly big mainly because AFB was leaving)
2024 Luke Brooks
2026 Jamal Fogarty, and …!!!
so they offered him a contract with KPIs and were happy when he didn’t sign it? So why did they offer the contract in the first place then?my point was the KPI s were in place from the outset they were not added at later point in time...
