Dylan Walker had a real bee in his bonnet tonight. He hit and hit and he stuck. Nate Myles....that's what we want. And Jake.....some of those hits...I felt those. Awesome.

Proud of the boys. For mine, the biggest "team" effort in almost a year and a half. Like they wanted to just be next to each other in the trenches.

I've been saying we haven't been playing like The Manly I know. Tonight, we played like the Manly of old. Even Vossy said that our defense resembled the Eagles under The Bob Fulton era.

Play like that, opposition teams will **** themselves at playing us.

Hard to drop anyone from that side. Superb defence. I like Bainbridge.. he will be first to get dropped id imagine.. but should be Brown.

DCE stepped up and led like a real captain tonight. 40/20 and the try assist turned the game.

I haven't seen too many comments on the much maligned Trent Barrett so far.

He has copped it from everyone on these forums (shoulder charges, eye gouging, stiff arms, spear tackles and even the hoppa up the you know where!) - Fair's fair, he should be given credit when he does something right.

He must be ok to get the boys pumped for this sort of effort and the defensive structure looked much better. All within a week of a really dismal performance.

That was one of the gutsiest defensive efforts I have seen for a long time. The team showed us in the round 1 defeat when they withstood the whingers who had a monopoly on the ball in round one they were capable, tonight it was sustained and punishing defence. Great way to kick start the season.
