Delemege defends himself

Sadly the Franchise sees fit to alienate almost everyone that holds ties to the past.

I'm appreciative that they are there still putting money in but gee I wish they'd cease and desist from these actions.

We get it , you won, so how about we let bygones be bygones!!

from the daily telegraph

Max Delmege, a former real estate tycoon, poured in $15 million as an owner and sponsor of the Manly Sea Eagles … then went broke.
These days under the ownership of the highly respected Penn family, Delmege is no longer welcome in the dressing room or anywhere around the team.

(Seems harsh and only reinforces my 'narrow minded revenge fuelled agenda' comments from the other day.)
G'day all,So it seems poor old Max isn't welcome around the club anymore because the" highly respected" have deemed him unworthy.Chin up mate as it puts you in the same category as the genuinely highly respected club champion Toovey,so its not all bad.
cheers mike

Well of course Delmege could have said nothing via social media and spoken with his legal representatives directly.

Instead, true to form and much like another real estate figure now creating his own mess on the world stage, he resorted to an ill-tempered rant on social media. In the process, playing right into the narrative his enemies have constructed to target him.

If he drafted that he needs to work on his grammar and syntax, which in the tradition of real estate shysters everywhere, is appalling. Attn Max: there is no 'p' in Ian Thomson's surname.

Back on topic: any chance that someone could post the original article? I cannot get through the Bellylaugh/HUN/Curious Male firewall.
Without max this club would not exist
Real estate or no real estate that has nothing to do with the topic of Roth tool

You mean like Matai shouldn't have spoken to the media in his own defence at his front gate when he was falsely accused? Or is it just real estate people you have a problem with?

No one doubts that the initial injection of funds from Delmege helped keep Manly-Warringah afloat back in 2002. However by 2003 it was clear that something had to give and that was a clean out of the administrative structure, a new coaching direction and eventually a new funding model. That new funding model was devised by others in the organisation, namely the then CEO and Penn. Delmege came in over the top and demanded s piece of that action. On the face of it, it looked like a good deal - the injection of cash was somewhat larger.

However in the process, Delmege overreached financially as he was now up for more money at the same time as he was expanding his real estate interests. Something had to give and it did. He never had pockets as deep as the Penns.

The Club's financial model continued on its unwieldy way until the buyout by the Penns of Quantum's interests.

I am not a paid up member of the Penn Family fan club, as any perusal of my previous posts would reveal. However this is a complex issue with more than one side to it.

Anyone who thinks that Delmege entered the fray back in 2002 for purely altruistic reasons, is deceiving themselves.

Yeah exactly - that dickhead Ray White just doesn't know when to stop!

Max Delmege is forever enshrined in Manly history

Matai comported himself in a professional manner during that interview. Then called in legal advice.

Thanks for inadvertently proving my point. Are you a realtor?😉

The problem with adjudicating your own debate and jumping to conclusions regarding your opponents background is ... that you invariably chose the wrong winner, and contribute bias or predilectons that doen't exist.

Eloquently put, gee I wish I could write words like that, but no just a poorly educated , illiterate retiree!!

PS: doesn't mean I'm for or against the words just that they sounded nice.

Yes I noticed that, predilections I believe is the correct one.

Funny, my Mum was very very good at Scrabble , occasionally she'd force me to play her.

Impossible task.

She caned me one day with " surreptitiously", love that word , even though I'm ****ed if I know where you'd ever use it!!
