Not being a 2ky listener, I never could figure how this tk person got on the roast. They all seem to think he's less than a lightweight.
Kiwi MG basically said it had been blown out of all proportion though others shouldn't have run in. And he'd hate to see anyone miss a GF for it. Andrew Johns pretty much the same. It was only the tk person who was hysterical. Maybe he's aiming for a gig on 2 GB?

Just another media hack trying to make a name on the back of hysterical sensationalism. Him, Kent,Hadley,Weidler and Rothfield should go and blow each other. The only media person I've heard make any sense is Giaan Rooney. Basically said she didn't have an issue with it and so too did most other R.L supporters.

Another media muppet who is a poster boy for the corporates and media propaganda machine. I listened to this idiot today, and he said what I thought he would say. It was a pity Gus was not on-really it was the worst roast ever. The fight topic was a piss poor discussion, except for MG.
These media hacks always seem to have agenda's against certain players, and never let up. It's the media coverge that is ruining League, not the players Gallop you twit.
I really wanted to hear what Gus had to say-at least I respect his football nous and general opinions.

Kennedy has those watery eyes you often see in bog-Irish types. Don't worry about him, I don't know anyone who does.
The important thing to note is that the NRL (i.e. Gallop) has been much more measured in their response than the likes of Kennedy, Smith et al.
I'm sure the NRL realise by now that if they had more robust procedures in place, i.e. a trainer to escort each player off (by the most direct means) with NRL /club officials standing by to take them up the tunnel, then this wouldn't have happened. So I think that will lesson the punishment somewhat.

He's a small man of clearly, average intelligence who co-hosts a sports program on Sydney radio 2KY in the mornings with Michael Slater. Unlike "TK", Slater is able to talk about a variety of different topics without contradicting himself or sounding foolish. Slater is also a proud Manly supporter and unlike the peahearted TK has the courage to declare his support of an NRL team.
The other thing those not familar with this program may be unaware of is.... the panel operator for the show is also our "beloved" Ground announcer at Brookvale oval. So Johno, this part is for you....
I dare you to show this thread to TK or Slater, for matter... and while I have your attention, do us all a favour and stop telling us when to make noise. When it comes to ground announcements, less is more.

As MG said on the Roast, you have to have another perspective though. He was talking about the league, but I would say the same thing about the journalists.
The guys that will never lose such as Melinda, Giaan, Rabs, Joey, Fitler, Gus, etc will usually have more measured responses to the events unfolding.
Whereas Rothsfield, TK, Kent, Hadley, Wiedler etc make a living out of talking the most controversial crap they can, to get affirmative responses out of the gullible public. It serves their interests to hype up a game like Friday nights, and then jump up and down like madmen when their hype has succeeded in marring an otherwise fantastic game. Now they will have another million articles they can write and talk about this week, egging the anti-Manly and anti-Storm crowd up into a frenzy to buy more papers and subscribe to their talkback drivel. They'll also have McCallum, Harrigan, and Gallop floating along like jellyfish to their underhanded current.
I guess if I was a reporter, I'd be right along with them, as any reasonable reporter would never last in sports journalism. Got to pay the bills.
