Enough is Enough - That Darren Albert Try

According to Fox its one of the best 4 tries ever scored at the SFS.

God I hope it doesnt win the poll they are holding.

It was a crap try, I see 5 tries every week in the NRL that are better.

For the record I have never seen him put the ball down, I turned my head on the day at the GF and every f#cken time its shown on the TV i turn away.

It wasn’t a great try at all, just a try that provided a big result. There’s a huge difference.

I was there for that try as well and was shattered too.

The stadium just went off and all I could get out of it was that the ARL comp was much better than the super league crap.

I think the whole world was against us that day, I was used to it but it seemed everyone needed Newcastle to win for the sake of rugby league.

That’s why they keep showing that try and why it meant so much to so many.

Not in the 100 tries at that ground.

I remember it well and it wasn't one of the best tries . A gap opened up and he ran thru it from a pass thrown back inside from johns. I remember it more by kicking the tv off the unit . I remember it even more so when the ex got home from work to no tv . Geez that was a tough nite all round.

It was a frustrating game....could not quite put them away that 2nd half.
If they played 10 times with those teams, Newcastle would win once....and that once happened to be the GF - still feel sick when it’s replayed 300 times every season....hate the Dogs but the try by Steve Gearin is the best I have seen in a GF...the most enjoyable - Beaver in 2008 !!

The Mark Coyne SOO try for QLD was the best I ever saw there, and I was right on the corner where it was scored!!

The amount of hands the went through was incredible!!!

100% agree.

Hands down the greatest try at the ground.

Maybe the greatest try scored to decide a big game.

It wasnt a try, it was a miracle as they said.

I saw the best ever coathanger at the sportsground, pre sfs. Gilmeister stuck his arm out and shearer’s body kept running while his head and neck stayed put.

Trevor sent off from memory, and manly still lost in a disappointing match.

I think Renouf's length of field try was pretty special.
Can't remember who against though, Dogs or Dragons?

Heartbreaking. The second ripoff in 3 seasons. McDougal should have been penalised or at least made to go back to the mark and they shouldn't have even been there if they were tested earlier.

Apparently according to the Rugby League Gospel of little Tommy, my dear old Dad, Newcastle were the swing team. They were about to sell out to Super League but the ARL convinced them to stay. Manly were never going to win that one. Plenty of momentum changing ref clangers in that match too. And why wasn't that fcker sent off for stepping on Toovey's head?
I believe my little Tommy, my introduction to the mighty Sea Eagles. Neither of us are one-eyed, just level-headed and factual.😉

Have to agree about the Darren Albert try. Manly went to sleep and created a huge gap for him.

The Innes try in the same game was far better and one of the commentators said live that it was one of the best grand final tries that you will see. Cliffy completely fooled them and Tooves supported well to put Innes over starting from our half. Johns' involvement in the game was significant but I felt that Lyons outplayed him that day.
