look im dont think he is too bad. I was shocked against the tigers when he had a run around the 20 minute mark, shocked because until then i hadnt sighted him. I get everyone loves his structures, his off the ball stuff but i propose this

If he had a youtube of 100 best moments it would consist of 3 runs , 4 tackles and 93 off the ball moments, runny decoys, pointing at defenders to keep the line. His work rate is too low. He can do good things but honestly we need more than decoys and talking a defence up from the big man

Second row is our biggest weakness and he is a big part of that. His injury free run is no coincidence

Agreed. I think Frankenstein has the ability to do more. He certainly is physically capable.
I'd love him to get involved like Gillett.

He does us much as is meant to. Backrow is very good defensively in our team but not offensively because unlike alot of teams we get our sucess in other areas. Im fine with the backrow, hasnt done anything wrong for us this year. Frank has been one of more consistent players this year, he works hard and gets the job done.

Been saying all year, 1 run in 20 minutes is pathetic... I dont buy for 1 second that the coaches plan is for centres and backs to do all the hit ups.. If so, the coach has rocks in his head.
Good back rowers touch the ball ATLEAST once every set.. Not once in 20 minutes.. Its call being lazy and is a huge reason we arnt a legit threat.. Our front row and backs are all chipping in, our back row isnt pulling their weight.. Not even close

Frank had 11 hit ups and one of the few that managed to make 100 meters last game.

He is on record as wanting more work, but the ball is rarely passed to him.

Wonder if he could be better on our RHS where Chez could utilize his size and speed better @

I dont think our centres get much ball either. I know our attack goes ok but there is loads of improvement needed to really get us playing well consistently

Fair dink , 20 min mark . I didn't take that much notice of that . I dont mind him either and he has signed a new contract, but if he's not taking a hit up until a quarter of the game gone he should have been hooked.

I'd have to look again, and not taking away from common thoughts on Winterstein, but i thought he took the 3rd or so hit up?

Agree with you HM. I thought Frank got a lot more involved this week and was quite strong in his running. One of the few forwards who I thought made some metres in the second half.

Agree we need more out of him. I want to point a little of the blame at our ball distributers though. A couple of weeks back I watched a replay of our game.

It's funny. Watching it live I felt like Lane was a slacker. Second viewing , watching our two back rowers closely. I was a little surprised how often Frank is back and runs a line and is used as a decoy. Or ready for a run and the ball goes the other way. He's pretty much always in position. He may not be calling loud enough for it, and all the rest. But it's not a physical or endurance issue, he is there ready and waiting.

Lane how ever is a machine. He didnt stick to a spot on the field like Frank. In defence he just goes every where.

Lane actually worked his ring off around the ruck. Sometimes covering on the inside had him getting dragged on to the opposite side of the field. Found himself having to Sprint back to his spot in defence a few times.

But from starting out being critical of the big bloke. First time around I was just seeing him at the back end of his work and slow back to his spot. When take note of where he has come from, and how and why he was over there. Penny goes a bit better then shes getting credit for.

Good backrowers don't exist.

Looked through round 22 not 1 backrower in all games touched the ball even 20 times, at best once every second set so only 50% of a good backrower.

Locks still only got up to mid 20's.

Righto, maybe every set is an exageration lol but they sure as sh!t dont wait until 1/4 of the way into a game before their first touch..
It infuriates me watching Manly try to work it out off their try line in the first 10 minutes with centres and wingers taking most of the hitups and making zero ground because they are running into fresh forward packs that outweigh them easily... Thats not their job, realistically they shouldnt be doing that until late each half to help out our tiring pack and try to exploit the opps tiring pack..

After watching countless replays of every game this season .. Baz and Bozo have completely missed the fact that Winterstein is hopeless and does nothing ... and are so lacking in football judgement, not only do they keep picking him every week ... they actually gave the 31 yo a new 2 year contract ....

OR The people bagging him have absolutely no idea what they are talking about ..

PSS Yes I would happily replace him with Cordner, Hess or Gillett but not too many others but then again they would probably cost 3 times what we are paying Frank.

Josh jackson from the dogs.

Another perspective ..

Frank has only ever played 28 games of first grade NRL.
Tom Turbo has played 51 games of NRL
even Brian Kelly has played 21 games.

Frank is still learning.
