I screamed at Garrick once or twice (well through the tv anyway) but he really had a great game in many ways. Takes plenty of tough runs of our line (an area where Manly isn't great), makes some penetrating runs in attack, and kept the Cows all-star left edge at bay. His pass for Saab's 2nd try was brilliant centre play, and his effort in taking an intercept also saved a Cow try.
Frustrating moments, but worth persevering with imo, even though he gets hammered here on ST.

It was one of his best games in the position. Saved a try early with a brilliant intercept running back in defence. He also scored a fair try that was disallowed when Saab was ruled to have made a tackle in the air. He made some key tackles tonight and threw that brilliant pass for Saab’s try.

Had his best game of the season.

Which, to be fair, wasn't a high bar to reach.

But credit to him and onwards and upwards hopefully.

Even from his perspective you would think he would want to play wing. He was a quality winger who must of been in the mix for origin contention on his best form and goal kicking.

He will never represent at centre and now Lomax came from nowhere and looks to have sewn up that wing spot.

Lomax will vacate it again next year when he is an Eel.

I actually think we need more players like Garrick in the team. One of the reasons the Bulldogs are doing so well with a patched up roster is their attitude and burning desire to compete and win.

Manly is short of competitors. We’ve got Garrick, Jake, Brown and Talau that look cranky and fired up. The rest play like pussy cats. Sure, they’re skilful and have some serious talent but they rarely look like the win is life or death.

Croker is of a similar ilk.
Also Waddell. And Raymond, although he's only a fringe member of the side.
The effect of Croker's absence on our middle during the last month or 2 may be underestimated.

A better game defensively from Garrick. His goal kicking was spot on last night and crucial.

Yeah agree, I forgot Croker who is genuine competitor. He doesn’t really get cranky and fired up but you can tell the result means a lot to him and his actions speak volumes.

Also, I don’t so much mean to disrespect our other players but aggro and desperation across our squad is maybe lacking a little.

I noticed another big play from Garrick that went unnoticed last night. The Cows were set for a field goal to the right but dummied and went left where a huge hole opened up for Finefuiaki…Garrick and Aloiai made a try saving tackle and pulled him short of the line when he looked certain to score.

Paseka! Great athlete but a tad friendly for NRL front row. So far, anyway. Love to see an opposition sledge or needle the guy a bit, I guess they don't dare.

Made a few dumb mistakes last night but it was a pretty good performance by him. He and aloia made a crucial tackle on our line at the end of

Yep that was a huge play. I mentioned that in another thread.

Par for the course last night, a few good things but still a few bad as well. Some extremely stupid passes and missed tackles.

Gets the Bradbury award for falling for a dummy and gifting the cowboys a free run to the try line, but somehow ends up with the ball when the cowboys player found him in support.
