If he keeps the form he showed tonight (and in my opinion, last week too), he will very quickly become the best centre at the club. His defence this week and last week was great too. I held out hope he would come good, as he always has done with new positions, and he's been proving his potential since the Panthers game. That game certainly seems to be an outlier now, in context. All he needed was a good knock on the head to find form apparently!

Garrick at centre has been somewhat rocks and diamonds, but I guess that's to be expected of a player usually on the wing and then having to adjust his play to suit a different position. What I like about Garrick though is he looks to be the composite professional. Nothing silly, doesn't try to do the impossible, measured in everything he seems to do. A mate of mine who met him for a minor business transaction said that was what he also noted. Calm, sensible, common sense approach to things. Good player to have in the side to settle emotional excesses.

Junior N S W state rep as a centre and background so only some minor adjustments at N R L level and much more upside then not from what i have noticed playing there this season .
Made it a bit easier playing against less credentialed Knights centres but did quite well the week before also and other games against more formidable centres .
Still consider Koula as a must for the other centre position .
Talau and Lehi for a wing spot , well , short term at least guess it goes to T T 2 with all the back line available , still maintain that Lehi would have the ability to play as a 6 but of course immediate future , at one[ and no doubt longer term ] , then wing if required in the here and now .
Only thing with T T 2 being to kick well clear after being put into space on the wing but has been managing O K to date and Lehi , great speed of the mark and looks like no slouch in open spaces

Yes it’s important to remember that Newcastle were without the services of ‘Never say die’ Gagai, Best and Ponga in that game.

Yeah, I'd love to crow about how great we were - and considering all the changes to the team, we really were - but Newcastle just didn't show up. Given what was at stake for both teams, that really surprised me. But I'll take big wins like that any day of the week:)

I thought he was much better. Gagai and Best may have been out but he can only play who is in front of him. In particular it's great to see the combo he is forming with Saab. The amount of times Harper would dummy to, or not use him was incredibly frustrating.

Reuben Garrick lasted only 63 minutes against the Knights on Sunday and was seen clutching at his jaw on the sideline.
The Manly centre is only recently back from concussion and has fractured his jaw in the past.

“I went back and had a look at the 10 minutes before,” said NRL Physio. “He had one incident where he got hip dropped and carried on.

“Every involvement after that he kept shaking his head and was saying ‘what the hell’ because he appealed for a penalty at the time. It didn’t look like anything major …

“He also went low in a tackle and got up and was maybe a little hazy and he’s only just come back from a concussion.

“So a couple of options there but I don’t think it’s anything to be too concerned about.”

I was thinking him coming off was more about Clayton getting a run.

You could see Seibs talking to him on the sideline and lip reading, it appeared he said ‘nah I’m fine’ and was shaking his head.
