[Resurrected] Hasler named Titans coach after shock Holbrook exit

The NRL made a major error a few years ago when the Gold Coast were engulfed in that drug scandal to allow them to stay in the comp. They’ve had three goes and all three have been disasterous.

They should have been relocated back then.

Des Hasler contract clauses reveal Gold Coast Titans must finish in top eight or coach could be terminated in 2025

Des Hasler’s tenure at the Titans could end as early as this year after revelations of strict clauses that places his fate at the mercy of Gold Coast management. See the contract details that leave Hasler’s future in doubt.

Des Hasler could be terminated as Gold Coast coach as early as this year with revelations his deal with the Titans is laden with performance clauses that protect the club against a significant financial hit.

It is understood Hasler’s three-year deal comes with strict clauses that protects the Titans should their poor run of form continue.

The clauses mean that Hasler needs to finish in the top eight this year in order to be guaranteed a third season at the Titans.

Gold Coast may be able to part ways with Hasler as soon as this year – it is believed without any financial repercussions – if it becomes a mathematical impossibility that the side will play finals.

Titans chief executive Steve Mitchell declined to comment on Hasler’s contract when contacted on Tuesday afternoon.

“We can’t speak to the terms of employment or any employee’s conditions,” Mitchell said. “It is confidential.”\

Gold Coast are next to no chance of playing finals football this year with the club sitting second last on the premiership ladder with just two wins.

Their six competition points includes a bye and has them four points outside the top eight.

The TAB is no longer taking bets on the Titans in their “to miss the top eight” market, and also have Hasler’s side the $2.75 favourites to finish the season with the most losses.

Hasler’s recruitment was trumpeted as a three-year contract, but with just 10 wins from 31 games he is facing an uphill battle to ensure he remains in charge at the club next year.

He has the second worst winning record of any full-time Titans coach
and after initial hopes that he could turn the club around, the signs have been discouraging for the Titans and their long-suffering fans.

Any one Better than Hasler
Which Hasler are we talking about ?
The Young Premiership Winning Hasler
Or the Current one who has the second lowest Winning percentage in the Titans History ?
That is only looking at the situation from a single dimension young Bozo. Not many talented aspiring coaches would take on the Titans…. Unless you are throwing your hat in the ring mate?

Des was finished at the dogs he was lucky we were desperate and hired him again
Our club gave him the benefit of the doubt and we all had high hopes .
Their is no doubt now that The Great Des isn't as Good as he Once was .
He will always be our Club legend . We will always celebrate and Honor him as we do with all our Club Legends

Des has Done it all
At our Peak we Rise
and at our Decline we fall
We all will decline
But not all of us will reach the Great heights that the Great Des Has

Thank you for your post perspective feathered friend
My point of view is this
We should never hang on to Mediocrity believing that there is no other opportunities
There is always opportunities for the ones that look for them
We are only done when we give up .
Giving up is only an option for Losers .
There are promising coaches out there . Who ?
Good scouts know who as they are always on the look for them . This is what they get paid to do .
Would a Talented aspiring coach take on the Titans ?
Opportunity Knock's loud for those aspiring young coaches that know that those rare nrl opportunities are far and few between
Would they Take a Promising Roaster with a Great nursery that spans across the Picturesque Northern Rivers region and the Gold coast / Tweed Area .
Throw in the Great GC life style and a Great Incentive Performance Salary and you have your man
